MPC 25000?

Also, I've got one of those digital boxes, and if it's the same cheap Chinese garbage... I'm going to say who knows what it is doing... I threw mine away because it was seriously coloring the sound. Not saying the one he is using does, but the one I had was seriously no good.

I'm guessing he didn't have them, but he should've included the 60 and 3000. Those are the models folks buy/keep for the sound.

In the end sound is subjective. Same as Vinyl vs CD vs 96kHz/32bit recording. You can measure it and tell what format have the best values but that is completly different from what people like.
Real ratings are only possible with blind tests. Many people need to do that with many sound examples. Then you get the result what sounds good for most peoples. Still there will be differences. Some people might like the sound of snares on one machine but kicks on another.

Yea I usually shape the Sound of my Finished product/track anyway. If i need that Gritty LoFi 12bit sound, i'll tweak it i get it there.

EQ and Compression can emulate any Vintage Gear

It's just a digital format changer. (Optical to coaxial converter) Nothing Is analogue on it so it shouldn't change the sound.

Yeah, I'm looking for as clean as possible to start. I'll twist it after if necessary. The right EQ & compressors do the trick. Tape & console emulations, saturation, distortion, etc. if the extra steps are needed.

But I'm not knocking anyone that wants it from the MPC.
