Could we talk about the new MPC one?

What do you think about?

From my point of view, it feels like a more ergonomic MPC Live (and not a MPC Live 2 since the CPU and the RAM are the same).

It's ugly... Is it a low cost version of the live ?
Look at the specs it's not more powerfull

I just responded to this on Gearslutz. I guess it is standalone. Makes me wonder even more where this fits in, or maybe how it affects the Live. It's not that much smaller for portability, but definitely cheaper.

Edit: Just noticed CV gate inputs. Good for Live owners that wanted that.

But good news for the Live as development will continue.

I think Akai missed the right move.
Still 2gb? Less outputs?
They should have put more Ram.
It is just a downgrade of Mpc Live.
Good for catching a low budget audience.
Not good for Mpc users, no upgrade, nothing new.

Nothing new now, but this might indicate what some speculated as they are not changing directions. A new, improved MPC just may be on the way. Maybe something in the $1,500 range with CV gate, more buttons/knobs than the Live, and hopefully more RAM. They squeezed a lot onto the One.

Just want I wanted, I ordered a 1010 black box for traveling purposes. I’m going to cancel that and order this today.

The Live is a little to wide for my everyday travel setup.

Wow! No portable battery is a big downside. I hope there is an internal slot for HDD/SSD...

EDIT : I do not see any SATA connector in the technical details. I guess the users must buy an SD card to expand the only 2 gb available from the machine. And do you know the price of an 1 Tb SD card ? It's waaaaay more expensive than a good SSD.

No rechargeable battery? That's contradictory. Smaller for what then?

Nah, this is not a Live replacement. It's a Touch replacement and response to Elektron.

There is a discussion about the 2gb of Ram.
It looks like it really has 2gb of Ram instead of the 2gb hoax of Live that actually is 1gb or even less.
But it's not clear yet.
And the lack of battery is a crazy stupid move, I think many Live users bought it also to use it with battery, as I did.
And less outputs is also a strange move, I miss more outputs on my Live.
And no hd slot?
So what the sense of this new Mpc?

Anyone have the dimensions? Too bad they stuck with the studio/Live qlink orientation. The Force qlink layout is much better

Yeah the good news is that Mpc is still on development.
So that's good for Live users.
But honestly this new Mpc without battery is just a crazy move.
