I'm fairly new to the Live. I installed a 500 GB SSD drive in the Live. It's formatted and I have files on there but when I hook up the computer and the Live in controller mode all I see is the SSD drive. None of the Live stuff.

Did you format it using your Live? What computer OS are you on (Windows or Mac)? I've got a 1 TB drive, and all of my sample content and Expansions show up in Windows when in controller mode as a removable drive.

By the way, you are required to "eject" the drive first before shutting down your Live or switching back into standalone mode.

You can't see or manipulate the OS drive in controller mode. Only a ssd or any usb drives or sd cards will be visible to your file explorer.

That's the impression get. No big deal.
I don't have an SD card yet but the Live can take to 64 GB? Also, where's a good place to put your projects, SSD/SD card, or the MPC documents?

MPC Documents is located on the internal built-in drive, which will fill up pretty quick depending on how large your projects get. Personally, I'd store them on that big ass SSD you've installed, otherwise, what's the point in having it?

Exactly. Lol. This is my first MPC and I'm still wrapping my mind around the workflow.

Sounds good to me. I want to get off on the right foot so I'm going through the MPC Live Bible tutorials.

Yeah they should really give you the option to change the default save location for those folks that use SD cards and hard drives. Would be nice if they pointed the folders for presets to the user drive too. I hate having to search and load mine manually every time I want to use my 'Reverb EQ cut' preset or something. The drive used to be visible but people started screwing up their MPCs deleting factory shit on it so they just hid the whole thing from us in one of the previous updates. Technically you can still get to it, but you would have to open up the MPC and pull out the memory card its on hah.
