Could we talk about the new MPC one?

Just pre-orderd. Wasn't going to get this til later this year or next. But I had a nice coupon from Guitar Center. This will be my first MPC. Have been thinking about getting one for about 10 years.
Is there a manual for this thing anywhere yet? Or should I just look at the Live manual to get a general idea of what the software in the MPC can do?

MPC Live manual is fine, just ignore the Ableton Control bit as that's not supported in the One, the rest is identical.

MPC Live manual is fine, just ignore the Ableton Control bit as that's not supported in the One, the rest is identical.

Much appreciated. Perfect, I don't use Ableton. Well I have the Lite version that I got for free. I've poked around in a bit.

I'm curious about Ableton Link using a network cable, I wonder how much that will actually be used. My PC only has one RJ-45 port and that's wired for getting network to my computer. Takes me back to using a Serial Cable to link PCs so we could play StarCraft

You should buy a network switch. On the low end side, you can obtain one for $20. I'm going to use Dante AVIO adapter with the MPC ONE. This is where things will end up. All manufacturers have to do is add a RJ 45 and adopt the standard. Maybe the Force and One will incorporate this one day, since they already has the RJ 45 port.

Hey folks reading around the forums I've been unable to get a clear understanding about the software feature differences between the One and the Live.

Could someone please give me a clear answer on these:

1. The Ableton control is not there in the One. This may be related to the lack of wifi, which apparently is the only way that the Live connects to Ableton. Am I right?

2. The One has all of the synths and FX, including Air FX, that the Live and the X have. I have seen conflicting messages on this and I just want to be really clear about it because those are some of my favorite features of the Live/X. Some have said that the One does not have all of the instruments/FX, and that Akai will limit access to additional synths and FX in the future. This makes no sense to me because the underlying hardware is the same, unless the issue is the small amount of long-term storage built into the unit. Please tell me the One has everything here.

1.Nope. Some guys here succeeded to connect the MPC Live/X with an ethernet cable to the router or directly to the computer. By the way, an official video shows that it is possible to make a wired network. For the Live, you need an adapter since there is no RJ45 port on the machine

2.Yes, during NAMM 2020 Andy (from Akai team) clearly said that all the three plugin instruments are included in the MPC One. You can easily verify this information on any webshop, reading the description of the product

OK thanks! I wasn't looking at webshops - silly me I was looking at Akai's site, and I saw references to instruments and FX but no specifics.

So do the last two MPC software updates, work with the MPC Touch?

The current MPC software works 100% with the Mpc touch.

I only HAD a Touch, so I see it in my account. It wasn't mentioned for 2.7. I checked and it was mentioned for 2.6.

I don't know the official status of the Touch, but it's not in any of Akai's dialog that I've seen recently. Is it officially supported or simply still working with the software?
