So? Most people prefer larger pads. It's not like the technology for small pads hasn't been around for decades, yet virtually all MPC's since 1988 have had larger pads. Gosh, you'd think Akai did that for reasons... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

CharlesRandolph wrote:CR: Had the LIVE and X and returned them both. Crate digging on the road. NAH I'm good with that. Cause when we go dig, we buy crates and mark the records of things we find interesting.

Uh huh...

What's your point? Backing up data has zero to do with this discussion. Again with the strawman...

I never said Bluetooth doesn't have latency - that's you making shit up and putting words into people's mouths. What I said is that Bluetooth MIDI is perfectly suited to controllers other than keys, as well as key controllers for pads and strings. It takes a little skill, but is perfectly achievable. And - no wires! :smoker:

Sure.

It's getting weird that you're starting to agree with me at least on one point per post. Progress!

You keep saying MOST PEOPLE and MANY PEOPLE, when you mean yourself. In this thread alone, there's people who said they did not mind smaller pads. As I showed you with David, its the man not the pad. Master your craft.

The point is. Having a large SSD that has your music on it, should be backed up 3 Times. So backing up your masters has nothing to do with creating modern music? That uses a SSD! :Sigh:

That's not skill, that dealing with a poor protocol not suitable for real time. Anyone with skills won't play instruments with latency.

It is a simple no fluff sampler that did what it did GOOD. I love my 2kxlse2 and will not let it go.

I was a late adopter of the MPC 2000 XL. IMO one of the best drum machine / sampler I've ever owned. Won't ever part with it either!

A DAW-like way to grab, copy and paste a bar of MIDI and maintain it's relative positioning, for example. The only way to do this now is Copy Events which is not quick or efficient. Duplicate, copy, whatever it's called depending where you are, requires a 2nd step to reposition the MIDI.

Cant wait to get a one. to put custom knobs, mahogany wood sides panels and armrest. Im also going to put MPC stuff custom red mini drum pads with sensitive corks sensors. :smoker: probably won't even use the machine Just probably hang it on the wall like a picture.

Sure, I absolutely prefer larger pads - but that's besides the point. By your logic, if most/many people preferred smaller pads, they would be on all MPC's, and they would have been on all MPC's from the start. But they weren't, and they aren't. Good to see Akai branching out and diversifying their products, though.

Why are you creating an imaginary argument out of something that has nothing to do with my original point? No one was debating whether data should be backed up. You're the one that keeps focusing on this for no apparent reason.

CharlesRandolph wrote:That's not skill, that dealing with a poor protocol not suitable for real time. Anyone with skills won't play instruments with latency.

One could argue that small pads are a poor protocol not suitable for proper finger drumming, yet your "man" and others seem to get along just fine. Is it a stretch to use a Bluetooth MIDI controller with some latency if you're skilled enough to make it work for your productions? Pro tip: Bluetooth MIDI controllers wouldn't exist if there wasn't a demand for them.

You can't have it both ways, Charlie. If you're "pro" enough to finger drum on small pads, you should be "pro" enough to play some strings/pads on a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard and compensate for a little latency. Additionally, there are plenty of other scenarios where the latency isn't even an issue (as mentioned before), but by all means - please focus on the measure of the "skills". I'd love to hear more.

Based on this statement, you should not suggest anything to anyone ever again.    It's 2020 why are you dealing with latency. Maybe it's not latency, but your timing. Now lets bring back to the MPC ONE.

Enoch you’re building straw men as well, I and I don’t think nearly as much as Charles. Charles is more or less stating opinions.

https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/
- I’ll sit back but there is a lot of irony to your posts trying to be the contrarian view to every statement people make that it seems like you have a grudge against. If you’re going to have a real debate you should follow the rules too.

On another note, funny quick said that I was just thinking that the one could come close to looking like that blacked out xl that danoc was drooling over. Haven’t seen much with the new Mpcs being customized. Ironically besides the trump edition x and live the only people I seen with real customized ones are quick and tube digga. Quick having done more it seems.

E.L. On the Drums. He has that pro timing all while dealing with latency. The MPC ONE's quantize will not help this. No No No. As far as debating, I'm just shooting the $hit and having a good time. I would like to see more Royalties videos.   C.B.O.T.Y
