I am not going to waste the time to point to you doing exactly what you claim he’s doing. Internet is too hard to communicate ideas across as it is.

Sure, that's a fair point (though I disagree on your allegation that I'm doing what he's doing) - but at what point is certain behavior acceptable? You yourself stooped to literally name calling in threads with me some time ago. What was that about? Would you talk to some dude under a bridge or in a bar and behave like that? An absolute stranger? What is to be achieved with that approach?

There's a level of human decency and respect that should be striven for everyone, no matter where the conversation is taking place, and no matter what people disagree on. There's also a mature way to debate opinions like grown ups without resorting to schoolyard behavior, IMHO. And then there's the actual forum rules...

Is it just me or the look of this thing really growing on anyone else? I liked the form factor and dedicated buttons, but after looking at Charles’ video it seems to look better than the pics. I don’t think they could squeeze the in and out I need into that form factor, and I already have what I need but I think it’s great for Akai and it’s customers the live is powerful and not everyone works like me.

I dunno, I actually prefer the look of the Live over the One, and I'm not saying that just because I own the Live. I just like the rectangular look more. That said, I really like the buttons on the One - having the harder plastic and tactile "click" just feels better (and does remind me of older MPC's I've played with). I wonder if they'll suffer the same issue as the X does where the print wears off, though? Haven't seen that problem on well used Lives or Forces, as far as I can tell.

The MPC One test unit I have has issues with drum samples, where whatever you load lacks any analog and soulful character.

I hope that Akai can resolve this with the MPC One special edition revision that is coming out this summer.

I don’t like the form factor to the live. I’ have to take my hands away from the pads to play with the screen. I’m used to the screen under the pads and it seems like something simple like that can really change the workflow. Either I have to cross my right hand with my left or take my right hand off to mess with screen. I know nit picking, it doesn’t really change much for me, but I can see it as more ideal.

Richie- they have the analog soul sound pack coming in the next update. You should be good. Maybe if we complain enough the will send us a 4 track cassette deck to get the lofi character.

The user can compose any style of music on the MPC ONE from Jazz to Country. Personally, I don't need more drum machines. The MPC ONE and the SP2400, will be the last utility drum machines I get for some time. Unless, someone releases a Drum Machine that can remove my MPC 4000's off their perch.

Well In the about three weeks I should be all set to start up on the keygroups again. There should be more than enough on the beat camping to last you some time. I didn’t get everything off the d50 but I have more, same with the boog model d, some from the prophet x. I’ll need to work on the model d ones some. I have a few synths laying around I will start adding too. Just working my ass off, have so little time and then vacation for a week.
