I think you're right. Yeah, once you start tapping, all those thoughts go away. Have you connected your LPD8 to your MPC Live and map the knobs to other functions on your live? Those 8 pots and 8 pads would come in handy. :nod:

It will be a good replacement of the touch, because you could still use it in controller mode. However if you use ableton, the MPC ONE will still work, you just have to use the Ethernet port on the rear. :nod: The gain and volume pots are not user friendly at all.

I'm going to calibrate the input and outputs and never move them.

They Feel similar to the Normal Pads...NOT the Fat Pads...But the regular ones. When u makin music, you dont think about the Few Centimeter Difference. I think the XR20 Pads are the Predecessor the MPC One Pads

They ain’t as small the force pads. I don’t prefer them but they are workable. Takes adjustment they are about 1/2 the size of my lives pads and the gap between the two is right in my sweet spot.

With that said, I have no HUGE issue actually doing drums with them. I have issue with the dedicated buttons on the force more.

Now with sliding and and getting expressive with the pads that’s a whole different story. The force is geared towards a different work flow but I just wanted to compare the size.

Have a MPK Mini for years now. Had totally forgotten the pads on there are also a bit smaller than other MPC’s. I KNOW they are smaller, but am actually never aware of it’s smaller size when working the MPK Mini. Like you said Charles, once you start jamming...
And again. People also always got used to the 1000/500’s padsize.

Nah. My LPD8 is cinnected to my PC and l use the knobs to midi learn Reason 11. I love my setup. Its just right and nothing is ovekill. But the pads are nice. I thought at first they were cheap but nah they are good.

I have a OP-Z that i would like to midi clock sync to MPC ONE using USB, will that be possible? Is that possible on the LIVE? I cant see it in the manual... Thanks!

Not yet, however you can use a 3.5mm to 5 pin midi din cable to do it. Look on amazon they're like 6 dollars. But you need the oplab module on your OP-Z. Which is $150 USD. :lol: Talk about design over function. :lol:

Do alot of folks actually use the volume knob?? I treat it like the rest of my synths. Volume stays at 10, if its too loud, the channel gets turned down in the MPC. But I also use a mixer too. The MPC has an advantage over synths though in that you CAN calibrate it just like my MOTU interface. Turn the master volume all the way up. Run a 0db sine wave through it, set the mixers input gain appropriately. If it ever starts blowing up, turn down that channel in the MPC itself cause its too loud.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they do. I'll calibrate based off the order it will be in my chain. I'll calibrate the inputs and outputs to -6 db this leaves plenty of head room.
