Good SSDs???

Found a couple older threads here about people's SSD choices and whatnot.. So now that were in 2020, what's held up, what's worked for people over the last couple of years and still running hard?

Shopping around for a 500GB or so deal. Ive got an OWC 1TB in my Mac and its been great but OWC is always pricier because its 'Made for Mac' stuff. Samsung and Crucial 500GBs are about $10-20 cheaper than a 500GB OWC on Amazon heh. Im a fan of WD and only WD HDD's, but no experience with their solid state stuff. Crucial is Crucial, so they better have their shit together when it comes to memory of any type hah. Saw a bunch of reviews though with dead drives after like 3 mos. Eeeek. And of course good old tried and true Samsung. The WD Blue and Crucial are the same price, the Samsung is about $20 more. Is there any reason not to just get a Blue or Crucial over the proven workhorse? I saw Hynix is in the game too, and cheaper than WD and Crucial (only about $5). They've made everybody's RAM chips for ages now so they definitely aren't noobs there.

I have A WD SSD and its been working well. Loads quick etc. I have to get a new one csuse lm runming outta space lol

Hah yeah I have an older WD Blue HDD in it now, but its kinda clunky when loading and saving. Otherwise its been great. I just barely put the OWC drive in my Mac like last summer I think so its the only one Ive got experience with so far. Seems legit but yeah OWC always charges a price for their fancy Mac stuff. I didn't even get the "Pro" drive I just got the regular 6G drive.

Damn man, sorry you went out of your way to reply in it and wasted your own time on your dime. You want some help getting your panties out of that knot or are you all good now? My humble apologies I missed Frisbi's thread on page 2 your majesty. Maybe learn how to use your own time better next time though instead of clogging up a 'useless' thread with your useless shit? No issue with a sandisk 480gb ssd, it’s been in my unit since around the Live launched. Also have a 120gb PNY ssd in the Akai force.

PNY are good l have a usb joint.

I have a Crucial 2TB. No issues.

Samsung 860 EVO user here. I've got a 1TB in my wife's MBP and I got a 500GB in my MPC4000.
I had some troubles with them at first which I had to get replacements but they've both been flawless the past 2 years.

Whatever you guys choose...make sure you back up your material in at least 3 places. SSD HDD SD Card, USB Stick...they all do the same thing lol. Since there's no DIsk Streaming...speed is not a factor.

Samsung 860 SSD all around for me too. First I put a 250GB (around $60 US) in my MPC X when I bought it in April 2019 (only 40GB full so far with all the downloadable stuff from Akai's website plus another 10GB or so for my complete sample collection). Then in July I replaced my late 2012 Mac Mini's internal 1TB HD with a 1TB SSD. Made a 7 year old Mac run like a new computer. Finally in August or September I replaced my PS4 Pro's internal 1TB with another 1TB SSD from Samsung. That sees the most use, and after 6 months is still going strong. The Mac gets a decent amount of use, the MPC X less so. But all seem reliable.
