People don't understand why I got/get so pissed about Apple removing the headphone port and everyone following suit, even though I primarily use bluetooth.
THAT is exactly why. When setting up the Live,I almost always plug my phone into it as a sound source.
As for the item at hand, there does exist the possibility that they plan to break the Live from the X - to push the X further into Flagship territory, so with the release of the One, they could release a *possibly* upgraded Live, and the same way Roland presented the Jupiter-Xm and X together, show that there is a new X coming, later, with some beefer changes.
The Live MK2 could function in a space between the current Live & X, adding the CV options, adding the buttons that were added to the One, re-configuring the layout a little bit, and while I would put RAM on the table, what I've read sounds like they would have to change all the hardware to do so, so that won't happen.
But I'd "expect" the next MPC release to be a flagship update with improved hardware, then followed a year later with a Live refresh that inherits the hardware from the new flagship, you usually don't go bottom up on technology.
