Just installed a multi card reader..

No i dont use one....IDE Card readers & SCSI ones are hard to come by these days so Ebay is your best bet...Or small independent computer shops

It can be done ur self but u'l have to calm down If you aint to familiar with the insides of ur MP then do a search round here for more info...

im no where near familiar but i got a mac and im using the mpc pgm maker now so i save my pgms on the mac and then load them to zip and pop the zip in the mp so i think im good wit my technique but i seen on ebay they had one for like 25 the media reader so i was thinkn small investment

Aight, I got the Mircotech 47B card reader, modified the power supply (really easy BTW) and connected it inside the MPC.

The MPC recognizes the drive, but doesn't see the Compact Flash card (256 MB). I tried to format it on the MPC, but all I get is "SCSI Not Ready" on the screen when I try to do anything with the drive. The card is new, I just bought it today. I don't have a PCMCIA card or Smart Media card to try out.

Am I missing a something here?

try formatting it in your computer as a normal FAT partition

I have a mac at home, so I don't think I can format it on there.

I put the disc in my work laptop and it said it was a "FAT" but I could format it because I don't have Admin rights on that computer, since my work owns it.

aight, I formated two different discs as normal FAT partition and the drive still not reading them.

When I place the disc in the compact flash drive, the drive lights up 3 times, so it recognizes there is a disc present.

When I try to load or save I still get "SCSI not ready" and on the lower left it says "No Disc." If I press Open Window from the Laod screen I get the following description of files (keep in mind the disc is empty):

If I try to format I get the following on the screen:

Format
Device: SCSI-2

Vendor = MicTec
Product = PCD-47
Partition Size = ___M *should show 256M here
Parts: A-_ *should show A-A here
Ver. = m3.2
*Under the HD symbol there is not disc size (the manual says it should show the disc size).


I tried two different discs and got the same thing on both discs.


Anybody have ideas as to how to correct this problem?

Hay im a rookie at installing internal drives and things into the MPC.
Im looking to buy the Microtech PCD 47B (SCSI), can ANYBODY give me step by steps on installing, from placement, to what to format, and why.
