Question About Live Performances

Hey everyone! New member here. I'm fascinated with how versatile the MPC is, and am curious about fitting it into a live set. However, I have heard that the Live/One (I assume as the hardware is pretty much identical) have atrocious loading times between projects. Roughly how bad are the loading times? My idea is I want to use one of those 2 as a "brain" for my performances (probably moreso the 1 because of the CV capabilities), sequencing my hardware synths and some looping, and using the mpc itself to sequence drums and samples. I've read about some people bringing along additional gear to fill the silences, but is loading that bad? As someone with a seamless set, it's something I'd like to know before I buy. It's also not a deal breaker, as the MPC Live/One is so versatile, I'll make it work anyway.

Loading times for a new project are certainly not bad, obviously it depends on the size of the project but even off a decent SD card with a mid size project you'll be talking a matter of a few seconds, likely even quicker off an internal SSD. But yes, it's likely you'd want something additional to bridge that gap while a new project loaded. The other option is to look at building a single, multi-song project. If you optimise sample time usage and make use of internal plugin instruments, you could probably fit several songs in a single project.

Yeah, you'll either want a multi-song project (multiple of them) or you'll want something to fill in time. Loading isn't bad, but obviously the larger/more you're loading, the longer it takes, you'll want to strip/clean EVERYTHING down as much as possible if time is a concern. Something like a Tr-8s would pair lovely as you can put samples on there, making for tighter and more desirable transitions.

I use Mpc Live for live performances.
Loading time between projects is fast, never more then 30 seconds for me.
I took a Roland mc101 to fill the gaps between projects loading time but then my mc101 started to want more space because it just sounds majestic so now I split all projects between Mpc and mc101 and just forgot about filling gaps.
I really think that Mpc shines even more if you get a companion and if you want my suggestion, Mpc and Mc just complete each other perfectly

Yeah, I recommended the Tr-8s, but my hearts answer is the mc101 bigger brother - the 707. The size format of the 101 scared me away from a purchase. I wanted something similar to pair with my Force for performing, and was planning on the 707 because I'm AIRA'd out, but after the price drop and a STUPID coupon, I ended up spending about 700 and getting a second Force instead, so I am running (2) Forces for samples/vocals/instruments, with the Tr-8s as my background drums (not my main, since it quantizes everything and I am reliant on swing for any kind of non-robotic groove), still trying to get the ins and outs of it though as I'm focused on live-looping moreso than a set or DJing/Looping something together, and I'm over my head juggling so much right now.

I bought mc101 just to be able to play some samples while Mpc loads next project.
But then I also started to use its internal synths that actually sound much better then Air ones, of course, it's Roland.
Then I started to play with scatter and effects and yeah, they are top notch.
So now I am also considering to jump 707 train,the idea of having a deep editing possibility with those sounds just excites me.
I just wait for a price drop or 2nd hand good bargain
What is your experience with Tr8s?
I never tried it.
