There's what is called MPC software , heard of it?

If a person wants to rock in controller mode NOT STANDALONE , surely disk streaming would be pure bliss! I never said disk streaming should be for standalone but what if a person said that? How is it effecting your production life? See l didn't have to write a dam book to get my logical point across.

Most people here want disk streaming, its a function that's out, it's not it don't exist! Lummox!

TheDoctor wrote:You must be ignorant to use an mpc for orchestral stuff, I can't imagine the nightmare. I would prefer a DAW like Reaper where I can edit my audio precisely in a no destructive way, I could easily make different folder of my project all labelled and organised.
I would use NI or anyway I would give high quality EQ, comp, reverb... to orchestral stuff, no the MPC one. I wouldn't be happy with the mpc multisample engine because I would meed complex articulations for those instruments. I would prefer to work with NI stuff because they're top in term of articulations.
See you use orchestral stuff with a basic multisample engine, not high quality eq/comp/etc but then you ask for disk streaming  I think you're confused mate, your mistake is to use an MPC for orchestral stuff. Here we go again, users that pretend a device do what they want instead of find the device that works for them.
My point is why even the struggle? If I need these stuff I can't get bored to wait Akai, I will simply sell it and move on, I need to work after all right? Here where I think you and people like you make complain just because you have to pretend everything is how you want and you probably don't really work with music because again you won't waist time to wait Akai, you simply move on. An MPC is just a tool like any other, what it matter is my end goal not the type of tool I use.

Why you have to point out you're synthetic when you explain something and I'm not? Is this shit going personal? It's not a challenge mate, we're having a conversation.
I thought you were talking standalone, but if you use in controller mode should not the software use your computer resource??? Why you need disk streaming then?

Also did you ever heared the fact that the MPC software is a really basic DAW?
C'mon people you want to use high quality stuff and then you use the MPC software? You make me laugh. Imagine the struggle to make orchestral composition on the MPC software. You people must hate yourself.

Again I don't understand, plenty of options on the market that can do easily what you ask but no, you have to own an MPC anf crying all the time for a feature. I really don't understand.

Edit:oh wait! Maybe I understand why people like you do this. In that way your self esteem get boosted because you think they implement a feature you request. That's why the other guy said to thank him if they implement disk streaming. If you care about making music you sold this MPC and move on, that's how pro do it. But if you didn't probably you're not making a living from it. There's not a professional in this world who would use a tools that doesn't work as he wants especially if he got options.

And what if disk streaming results in dropouts or things like that?
What if it screws up Mpc architecture and put conflicts and more problems then it solves?
I mean, you all talk about it like it was a sort of magic stick that will put Mpc on another level.
I am not against it or for it, I just think that you all should consider that if Akai didn't make it, there must be a reason.
I also noticed that Roland didn't put sd streaming on new Mc, even if Sp404 definitely had it.
So are you sure it could only have benefits?
And then, if you talk about disk streaming, why you talk about controller mode? Controller mode uses computer cpu. It would not change anything if you use Mpc in controller mode,
And I repeat, with 8gb Ram nobody would talk about disk streaming.

This!!

No, I was being facetious is all. :smoker: There's no need to turn this into an ad hominem - there's already too much of that around this forum.

Anyway, isn't this thread about the One? Let's get back to talking about...

I didn't get personal till he pointed out the fact I wrote a lot to explain my things and he didn't. What these people don't understand is that I'm not against disk streaming, it will be a nice feature. I'm just sick of crying baby who can't move on and they have to sit around the web talking bad about something just because it miss what they need(and I highly doubts they really need, because again if they do they would sell the mpclLook Loopop video about the One, he explain pro and cons easily and you'll see plenty of people who get excited about it and they want to sell Digitakt to buy an MPC. With the crying babe we just gain negativity which it won't help the product to sell, more sell more development.
A serious person would say that there's not disk streaming, maybe Akai implement but it's not there so if you need look elsewhere.
A crying babe will ask the feature for years, making infinite post about and talk bad about it.
I had to scroll hundred of post about disk streaming to find useful stuff. Boring!
The web should help us to come together and share our idea not to constantly crying about features

Imagine if you do a product and everyone is telling you what you should do and you're not good at all. The same people are not able to make what you did and they buy your product anyway. Honestly would you listen to them?

Is not disk streaming something One users ask for?
I read people discussing about on a One thread on GS.
You think it's out of topic?
If so, sorry about that.

Yet, what does resorting to ad hominem attacks on people accomplish? I know you're new around here, but seriously - it's not helpful at all. There is such a thing as expressing your opinion without personally attacking people. Example: I disagree with much of your opinion, but I'm not resorting to name calling and personal attacks. Frankly, if you resort to ad hominems, your argument is extremely weak, IMHO.

Oh totally - indeed it is. MPC One would benefit from it just as much as the other MPC's (and Force), IMHO. I mean, at least for those who see value in the feature. * raises hand

Yeah just take care, disk streaming is not like writing two lines of code and all is heaven.
It could also add problems.
And if you ask me, it could be a workaround to avoid limitations, not a real feature.
The doctor is right when it comes to talk about the quality of the forums of today, I agree with him, this Mpc forum is the only I use, I just escaped from the others, I read them sometimes and always get disappointed for the stupidity.
But here we are Mpc users, isn't it?
And I agree with him that disk streaming is not necessary, of course it's a very personal opinion.
Maybe the doctor could just calm down and realize that disk streaming will not come on Mpc any time soon, even Akai knows is not necessary or too complicated to implement.
So everyone calm down and all is fine.
How you are all liking One?
I am already on the future, looking forward to having a Live with 8gb Ram and a performative Cpu.
It will come on 2024, based on my calculations.

Disc streaming has literally been an workaround to address limitations since day 1. Always has been (at least on desktop computers where RAM used to be very limited compared to your hard drive size). But that doesn't mean it's not a good approach to address said limitations, IMHO. And yeah, obviously if it was easy for Akai to implement they would have done it a lot sooner. My guess is that it's going to change how things work so dramatically that they need to work out the workflow just for it to make sense, IMHO.

Clearly disc streaming isn't necessary, as the entire product line has been doing fine without it. But one could say that plugins in standalone mode weren't necessary, yet we have them - and many people love using them. Perhaps if disc streaming does eventually appear on the current product line up, people will feel the same? Just a thought. :hmmm:

The reason why I am a bit critic, is exactly what you said: to make disk streaming they should dramatically change Mpc architecture.
If you ask me, I prefer to have a trustable Mpc and wait for more Ram coming hopefully before 2024.
Maybe I am just traumatized with my internal hd issues of before.

I hear you. It's certainly a concern, which is likely why we haven't seen it yet. Either way, I'm good as it is. I work around the limitations and I'm having a great time on my Live in the meantime.

Agreed.

Please tell me, what's allowed or not on this forum?
Like talking about disk streaming on One on a One thread is not allowed?
Putting internet reviews about Mpc is not allowed?
Comparing Elektron and Mpc is not allowed?
I am starting to be a bit confused about what I can or cannot write here.
Thanks.

We all veer off on topics, because that's just the nature of the discussion. But you have to be told what is allowed? Really? This topic says let's talk about the new MPC one. So lets do that, please post up your personal and physical experience with the MPC ONE.

You know of any interesting button short cuts?

Who are you?
A moderator?
Do you want to talk about other gears like you did for pages and pages or about the position of the chair like you did for pages and pages on a Mpc One thread?
But nobody told you anything.
You are dishonest to say the least.
But I would like to have an answer from the moderator, it seems you have a good relationship with him.
Your opinion has the same VALUE as mine, we are both just users.

The position was in reference to the MPC ONE flat design and how the screen and pads are positions. Also having a good chair was (Elayc) which is a VERY good point for people who use drum machines all the time. This is what musicians talk about all the time.

Find me a drummer, who's not picky about their throne or a piano player who's not particular about the height and tilt of the stool. But back to the MPC ONE.

Do you know how do you turn off the Darn, tap tempo flashing light?

Why is the shift button to midi control button to midi learn tab (Touch Screen) takes three presses and the Menu button to midi control tab (touch screen) to Midi Learn tab (Touch Screen) take 3 presses? The idea is to quicken the work flow, but this is the same amount.

Where was this mentioned by video reviews, it's wasn't because most of them won't use it the machine. Plus their job is to review the next unit. That's why you get surface based information, that's littered with wrong information. Like, you can't use an audio interface with the machine: WRONG!

So they come here and read what we've found, then do it and put it their videos without giving CREDIT! That's why many of us share content offline, especially cool workarounds. I've found many for the MPC ONE.
