Do you want to talk about other gears like you did for pages and pages or about the position of the chair like you did for pages and pages on a Mpc One thread?
But nobody told you anything.
You are dishonest to say the least.
But I would like to have an answer from the moderator, it seems you have a good relationship with him.
Your opinion has the same VALUE as mine, we are both just users.

The position was in reference to the MPC ONE flat design and how the screen and pads are positions. Also having a good chair was (Elayc) which is a VERY good point for people who use drum machines all the time. This is also something musicians talk about all the time.

Find me a drummer, who's not picky about their throne or a piano player who's not particular about the height and tilt of the stool. But back to the MPC ONE.

Do you know how do you turn off the Darn, tap tempo flashing light?

Why is the shift button to midi control button to midi learn tab (Touch Screen) takes three presses and the Menu button to midi control tab (touch screen) to Midi Learn tab (Touch Screen) take 3 presses? The idea is to quicken the work flow, but this is the same amount.

Where was this mentioned by video reviews, it's wasn't because most of them won't use it the machine. Plus their job is to review the next unit. That's why you surface based information, thats littered with wrong information. Like, you can't use an audio interface with the machine: WRONG!

It's a thread about Mpc One.
Not about drum machines or how to put a chair on a studio.
Otherwise it would be called "How to put a chair on a studio".
You know, I have nothing against that, you can talk for pages about anything, I am just highlighting that YOU are deciding what's good or not and the moderators don't do anything about that.
Mr Lampdog just chimes in to say I agreed when we were talking about disk streaming on a Mpc One in a One thread.
That's it.
So tell me, you have a preference on moderators? They are big friends of yours?
And if you want to know, you don't have any skill in being the one who decides what's good or bad on a forum, you are the first one to jump here and there to disturb what you don't like.
And again, moderators seem to be by your side.
Is this your territory?
Are you fighting to be the one who decides how this forum must go?

1. This is not my place. It belong to MPC Tutor.
2. I frequent the messageboard and try to give good consistent information.
3. We all shape the forum, for good, bad, or neutral.

4. Do you know how do you turn off the Darn, tap tempo flashing light on the MPC ONE?
5. The gain input on the MPC one is really quiet.
6. The headphone inputs are quieter than the MPC live.

Stop it.

Make an effort to understand what I am saying and all is fine.

What about the output volume of One? On my Live I love to put the volume on the back to the maximum, connect it to the mixer and pump it up with the gain. It does sound great, man. People say it's digital or whatever, I love its output.
What about One? Does it have the same output levels of Live? Is the output identical?

I've optimized my input and outputs to unity zero, with in my entire system. So the outputs and inputs have been set. I don't like smashing the dynamics out of my music. If I want that pump, we'll do it in mixing or mastering, where it's not destructive.

Same, nothing overtly different.

Yeah but I noticed that even at maximum level, the signal enters in the mixer quite low so there is a lot of headroom. To get to the red on the mixer, I have to go more then half on the gain pot of the channel.
The sound gets more detailed or maybe just a bit saturated, very slightly and I like that.
I think Akai has a great knowledge of how to pump digital sound, they started in 1986 when digital was at the very beginning. Or maybe just personal mythology

All my gear is unity gained. So if it's -6 db on the MPC ONE, it's -6db everywhere. I take the guess work out of it, that the key to having a consistent recording quality. With having two outputs, I've been exporting all the stems. At this point, I'll make about 5 beats a day on it, because I'm searching for for cool, unknowns.

To turn off the tap tempo flashing light.

Go into preference menu ( gear icon) and then go to general and the first option should be tap temple. Right under that flash tap tempo light. You can uncheck it and the light will go off

I attack those users but they offended me so what should I do? I don't like report or this kind of bullshit, I don't even care if somebody is aggressive with me after all we're having a discussion and it's ok to heat it up. What I don't like is when people start to offend about personal stuff instead of being related to the discussion. That's all! And again if somebody punch me I will do even worse to him, simple. If the moderator think I'm wrong, here we go again with another forum of people who like to push others on the edge and then it's the fault of that guy because he went bananas.
You want a peaceful conversation? Well don't start then. As I said I don't have problem if a conversation became aggressive but just stick with the conversation because otherwise we act like kids.
Also don't think everyone is a loser Akai fanboy or whatever, I honestly don't care if it's Akai, Moog, Blip blop I care about music, see what others do and what workaround or idea they have.

I join this forum because it felt like a really nice place full of different people with different vision. Often in a lot of forum there's one way of thinking and the rest are pushed away. I like discussions but just don't make a problem about it, it's ok.

My vision is to let the users say whatever they want and have them express their idea, they could be aggressive but they should no offend personally.

Sorry if I went off topic so bad.

I think somebody say something about audio interface. Can somebody tell me what audio interface they work with the MPC in standalone? I see people mention it but I never find a tread where they talk about it.

Shouldn't be -12/18db?and reach - 6db before mastering?

If you use the 8 audio track, each 4 mins long you still have 21 minutes of sample but I'm sure you don't even make an audio track long 4 minutes.
If you sample 4 octave for every note, you use 4 layer of velocity and every note is 3 seconds you end up with almost 10 minutes. If you use 3 layer of velocity is 7 minutes. So technically you could have 4 multisample keygroup like this with 8 audio track 4 mins long and still got a bit left. C'mon mate, for real?
And still you can sample the entire performance and use only 4 minutes.
I get the math, but the 1st thing I did when autosampling was introduced was make a 4-layer, single stride acoustic piano keygroup. When I loaded it, it took more than half the RAM. That told me it could be the only high quality keygroup used in a project.

Not sure if it was you, but to address folks scolding those that NEED disk streaming, try not to interpret it as they can't get work done. Try to hear it would make their experience easier, more enjoyable, etc. Not many folks are going to sit on an instrument they CAN'T use. At least that's what my common sense tells me. I haven't seen a single person say they can't make music until AKAI implements disk streaming. I've only seen folks say they want it, including myself.

I said -6db just as an example number. There is no perfect number, for mastering. Just don't use peak limiters or allow the peaks to hit 0 dBFS. It really comes down to how the tracks is suppose to make you feel. If you follow the number to close, you can lose power and emotion.

If the song is about love and caressing your partner. I don't want a Death Metal meet EDM meet POP record levels. I tend to stay between -6 and -4 for my overall mix. My goal in mixing is to make the mastering engineer job easy. Some EQing, light compression, and make sure the music translate across different mediums.

The MPC One meters are a bit off, for my taste.

I think there gonna implement MultiTimbral Midi in the future, and then they do, exclude the Mpc One for obvious reasons. I think the Live and X will only have it unless they update those before they do

But you want something because you feel the need of right? If I need something I need something because that's how I work and I need those heavy multisample otherwise why even ask if it's just an extra option? It won't even be on my head.
If I would like something else from my girl it means I'm not 100% happy with her. Somebody could say "but if she does that will be much more enjoyable" and my point is why are you with that girl? Why you didn't get the girl with the characteristics you prefer so you won't need any change?

What I mean is you do music as I do and you as me enjoy doing music right? Why would I buy a device that will bring me a wish I can't have it, that's not enjoyable at all. I mean the X and Live have few years, so basically everytime you want use your big multisample you end up to face the reality of your device and you can't do what you want to do. I'm not saying you can't do music but you can't do music as you want it because you will use those big multisample. Why put yourself in this situation? You buy something to make your life easier not to have another annoying limitations to work with, especially after all the money you spent for an MPC, hell no!

Yeah of course. But I generally find that at - 12/18db the fader give me the best control so generally what I do is make my song arrangement, bounce everything in stem and then make sure every elements is around that range of db, pull everything down and then I start to mix.

I rarely use compressor, I generally use parallel compression for drums but that's it. Often I don't even side chain because I rarely play on the grid so my elements has time to "breath" and if I need sidechain I generally do volume automation, a touch of eq, done.
I have a good relationship with my master engineer so if the mix sucks he will simply tell me because he knows how I see my music and I give him completely freedom to "colour" my songs.

How off is the meter on the One?
