Yeah exactly. I don't get the problem, when I play live I move around unity level, and all sounds just right.
When I record my live, without touching anything, I have the channels at around -12 which gives me the chance to stay at the right mixing levels before the mastering.
I think Mackie made a good choice for that and I like how it sounds.

Battery a gimmick? I don't see it as that. That was one of the top dopest things Akai did. Im still getting close to 7 hours of battery life since 2017.

Yes, that's the network, but it does not send audio or transfer file. It's used for MIDI only right now.

As far as the battery being a gimmick, it is. Because it does not make the work flow better, give the OS more options, increase the outputs. No it was marketed as, 'You can make music anywhere." Til this day, I have not seen anyone making beats in the park, on a boat, on a beach, outside on balcony drinking tea, on the bus, on the train, or in the backyard watering plants.

I have taken my Live over to one of my Chicks House, and made a couple tracks. Even that is hard to do, because Women need constant attention. I'll mess around and be Sculpting Beats for Hours

That's like saying a radio with batteries is a gimmick, it doesn't give you more AM channels or FM channels lol
It was done to be portable.

I hate the hell out of that. As soon as they smell you concentrating on making music here comes their azz. That makes me sick, I cut off a few chicks cause of that. When you're not making music, they don't say nothing as soon as you fire up the computer, sit in the chair here they come. You can tell them numerous of times don't bother you while you're doing music, it's like talking to a brick wall. That pisses me off!

Eh, I use my Live without plugging it in constantly. I have also used it outside on occasion. It was one of the things that really attracted me to the Live at first, and the lack of battery definitely puts me off the One.

I heard that. I like that too. I take the live with me to the stu and get busy especially when a person has no drums. It just makes me shine even more lol

I couldn't do the One just because of lack of battery. I don't have to worry about my cord l can just bounce. As compact as the One is a battery would of been dope. Make it compete with the Live.

I can totally see how a battery for an mpc seems gimmicky. But....I use it all the time. I also know I’m not like most people because I travel for work so constantly on planes, in hotels, driving etc.

Also, I listen to my live while driving. I’ll play beats I worked on recently etc when I have a long drive. 5,6,7 hour drives are a lot better if I have my mpc. Also, on our last tour it was nice to have in the van to kill time and work on ideas.

So I have to assume other people get use out of the battery since I do but understand the majority aren’t traveling with their mpc.

Just having a battery makes me feel relaxed. I remember being at the stu and some guy was touchin my live trying to figure out how it was working without a power cord. I told that guy never to touch my live or l will snap his f***ing neck. Dudes wanna touch your machine but if they break it they don't have the money, sorry just don't cut it.

Who walks around with a radio? Look at how many people are trying to invent some way to use the MPC Live. Hey man, when I'm at my girls house and the power went out. So we shared headphones and made beats for 5 hours.

I was making beats, while going to meeting. I jumped in the elevator and the while going up the elevator stopped working. So I just sat down and made beats for 2 hours. I had a microphone in my pocket and I used that to sample the elevator music.

I've used the battery on occasion and will use it more often once I settle on a mini keyboard controller to pair with it.

I don’t do it often anymore but when I first got the live going on my back porch and having a smoke and drink was really dope. Especially in the middle of the night when would get down to 60-70 at night.
