Yes, but there is workaround that is actually faster and it works for MPC ONE, X, LIVE, and Force. I'll share it at some point, if no one figures it out.

My fear is that they start to put limitations on the different incarnations of Mpc just to keep different price ranges.
Same as Roland and even if I love Roland I really don't like this attitude.
They run exactly same Os on same chips so why One cannot transfer through usb?
And why no Ableton integration?

Yeah, the missing Live control was sort of surprise as well, but I'll chalk it up to Akai trying to make the Live still a premium product that can be differentiated from the One. Maybe they'll add it in an update if enough One users piss and moan about it.

And what if they start giving synths only to X or Live and not to One or to Live and not to X or the other way round?
Then big jealously among different users, like Roland made with mc101 and mc707 which are the same but many features cannot be used on mc101 just because of Roland choice.

by the by I went with a 512gb card for the One..

everyone tryin' to tell everyone how to mix, what mastering level to use, how some don't like analog gear (blasphemy!!! ) and how disk streaming will be the cat's pajamas...

this is simply the MPC One thread. a thread JUST to discuss the One.

I love all you mofo's on this forum because we all love gear and we are MPC fans! we are die hard MPC fans. Curse you cats though-- had me reading all 20 plus pages I missed since I was last online (i have been too busy making love to the One) because Im nosy and just like to see some good cat fights and not miss anything.

anyway, ive had this box for over a week and its been super fine. i have not missed the TT inputs, the internal SSD, the additional outs, ableton (I am the minority who STILL uses an ANALOG DESK with ANALOG gear AND record to 16 tracks of AKAI DR4d's and master to My Sony 7040 DAT. yes it gets hot, i have to keep the suite cool and yes there's cables everywhere but i'll have it no other way! ).

but ill tell you what i LOVE -- the dedicated buttons! the workflow is much more fluid for me. i didn't like the extra button pressing on the live and the ONE is a baby X IN MY OPINION !! i dont miss the battery because im not some tight pants wearing hipster sitting on rocks at the bay with pelicans flying over my head as I make noise. i carry a ac power brick in my udg producers bag (an related bits) and ive all the I/o I need.

The ONE does not feel "entry level" to me. it feels very senior-ish--refined and ready for primetime. if you have used the LIVE or X you will feel at home on the One. I don't use computers to make music so ableton and lack of wifi/bluetooth mater not.

as always YMMV and this is my opinion.

Anyway don't take my jabs at the collective here personally. Im smiling as I say these things. I really love connecting with beat makers and I respect everyone on here...

Why would I use an MPC One? It's crippled feature-wise, and I own the Live, which comes with a battery built-in.

But yeah seriously, it's getting A LOT of new users, I saw fb page of Akai full of people getting informations and thinking to get one.
So Akai made it right, Chapeau.
But don't tell anyone it is exaclty the same as Live but with less features. Shhht.
Let's Akai sell many many of them, new updates guaranteed for all.
