Let's strictly talk about the One.
Is it called like this because there will be a two?
But yeah seriously, it's getting A LOT of new users, I saw fb page of Akai full of people getting informations and thinking to get one.
So Akai made it right, Chapeau.
But don't tell anyone it is exaclty the same as Live but with less features. Shhht.
Let's Akai sell many many of them, new updates guaranteed for all.

Anything that can be made on the live can be made on the One. I just want to know, how is the MPC One crippled? It would be interesting to read his or your prospective.

Wifi and Bluetooth on a drum machine. I totally forgot about that gimmick....oops I mean feature. All I need is another internet of things device, connecting to my network, allowing an easy back door. I wonder if Akai Pro is sending out security updates?

Wrong.
You cannot send an output to an external effect and then back to Mpc with One.

You sure about that? Have you tired it?

"What can you send with just a stereo output?"
"The stereo output"

It can be done with only two tracks. I suppose the question is, what do you gain? At that point it's time to get something else or use the internal effects. Is this something you do all the time. If so, what is your setup like?

My outputs 3/4 and 5/6 go to external effects because I like their sounds more then internal ones and since I record playing in real time, I prefer to record the effects separately so I can make a mix and a mastering.
I can understand for most people 2 or 6 outputs is the same, for me is vital, more then battery ahah

Agree with frisbee, really like to use external processors with the live. I know many would be fine with the one alone, but if they get the itch to expand that are limited.

I’d actually like to see how my work flow would be just doing it all in the one with no external options.

I’d be a lot more focused, that’s for sure. Not saying I’m down grading or selling off all my other hardware, but I could see this being an ideal situation for impulsive people like me.

Although the impulses might focus on vsts that would add up quick too. “ it’s only 50 bucks here, 150 there, I saved 350 buying the bundle, etc”

Haha either way I’d be f’d...

So you're tracking everything down to 3 stereo tracks? When you say play live, do you mean physically playing as in playing the piano for 10 minutes? Or is this more like, live sequence, press this, turn that, mute this, pan that?

Yeah but the idea is good, a Live with 6, a One with 2, you choose depending on the way you work.
No complains about One, it's a smart move.
People are liking the design a lot and the extra buttons.
We are old school, never mind.

Yeah 3 stereo tracks from Mpc and a stereo track from Mc101 so also synths are on a separate track.
I arrange everything live using track mute, assigned qlinks and sequences. It's a live set of one hour without silence.
I don't know why I don't use computer which would make it easier but I have more fun this way.

Actually, I don't concern myself too much with what is missing. There are things, I didn't know but most of those issues have been solved. If something is drastically off and unusable I have no issues with returning it. I'm not attached to gear like that.
