Answer: Perhaps, that's your interpretation of what I've said and that's your right to do so. I don't have control over what someone else thinks or how they feel about me. I don't lick boots, shine shoes, do a jig, kiss the ring, or kiss @$$. I also don't expect people, to feel the same as I do. If we agree, cool. If we don't, now we have something to discuss. (Constructively.)

Except that's the polar opposite of how you tend to behave here, Charles. You don't 'discuss" - you ridicule, laugh, and troll other people's opinion to the point where you clearly must believe your opinion is the only one that matters (and this is besides the time you play forum police). If that's not your intention, I suggest you revisit how you interact with people.

Who is saying "look at my gear, look at this and look at that"? Also, why is that an issue that bothers you?

That's a veritable cornucopia of people here that cover all levels of skill. It surprises you that there are people here who have mastered their gear, and those who have not? Why does that even matter?

CharlesRandolph wrote:there are some people, who are lazy and need to put in the work, there are some people who are good and need to put in more work.

So let me get this straight - your goal is to play judge of what you think is good, bad, lazy or those who need to put in more work? You seem to hold yourself in pretty high regard, just saying. ;)

CharlesRandolph wrote:Now, as far as the MPC ONE. It's a good device. I've patched into my system, which means it has a home. However, if it decides to act up, it will replace it.

It's a great device for the price, even for the crippled feature-set compared to the Live.

It actually seems super straight forward to me...Take the MPC X, lower the volume of I/O and smash it into the form factor of the MPC Studio. Remove the SDD option. Everything else should be the same. The pro, some will like the layout, the additional buttons will help with workflow, it will sit in a lap a little better than say a Live, overall shrunken format will take up less desk space, gives you the studio functionality - minus the copious I/O, and cost substantially less than a MPC X *terrific for CV users who didnt want to spend 2 stacks*. The cons? It doesn't have the I/O of the X, it doesn't have the phono of the Live, it doesn't have the battery of the Live, it has smaller buttons - though the value of the button size is questionable as others have already admitted that the smaller size works just fine.

Hello there. Proud (french) owner of a MPC Bible here.

Is it really true that the One cannot control Ableton Live?

Sounds pretty weird to me, as on the videos i watched during NAMM, guys from Akai kept saying One, Live and X had strictly the same OS :/

No that's your interpretation.

It doesn't particularly bother me, why should it?

No it does not surprise me.

1. Of coarse, I play judge for my own preferences. (Everyone does.)
2. So are you're saying, that you don't work hard? Because those who work smart/hard don't say that.
3. Always hold your self in high regard, why walk around belittling yourself.
There's enough people in this world, who'll do that for you.

It has Ableton link for syncing, but no built in Ableton Control. Perhaps, someone will discover a work around.

It's not just mine, judging from the myriad of PM's I received about people warning me about your behavior (which have pretty much been accurate to date).

CharlesRandolph wrote:It doesn't particularly bother me, why should it?

Then why bring it up?

CharlesRandolph wrote:No it does not surprise me.

So it's not relative. Got it.

1. Sure, but when you play the game as if your preferences should be everyone's, then that's an issue.
2. Where did I say that? And that makes zero sense, and has nothing to do with anything.
3. That's adorable.

But that MPC One - awesome piece of kit! How are you using it?

Ok thanks for the answer! So we cannot really say the One has the same OS than Live and X, then? Same OS but without some features, for me = not the same OS. Guys from Akai did not mention that during NAMM, i think. That's a great disappointment for me :/

What other people think, say or do. I can't do anything about that. If those people aren't forward enough
to say it directly to me, what does that say about them. Heck, maybe they're doing the same thing to you.

EnochLight wrote:But that MPC One - awesome piece of kit! How are you using it?

It's been a slow week with it. Missed my quota, but I have about 50 Drum Kits setup for it.

Yeah at NAMM they didn't mention much, just an overview. It's the same OS, with different GUI's. Personally, I would like them to release a version, without all the sounds.

I think it says a lot more about your character than you think, but believe what you want. It's cool. I really don't care.

Why are you setting up drum kits? Aren't you going to produce and write music with it?

Again, that's not my concern.

CharlesRandolph wrote:Why are you setting up drum kits? Aren't you going to produce and write music with it?
Week one: Fully learn the MPC One, by Producing Cues, Muzak and prepare drum kit's for it.
