I agree with you and I would not sell the Live and X to get the one. I got rid of them six months, before the Force came out. However, I never bought the Force.

marctronixx wrote:i had the LIVE and X. i had them right at launch (you can search the archives). i cut my teeth on the mpc series and have been an mpc user since the early 90s.

i recently sold the X and live last year to change my in-home workflow--I went with a fantom 8 workstation. i use external analog gear so i record to external machines and use midi. my s950 is my most used sampler , with the s6000 for orchestral bits. the X used to control all of that but now the fantom does.

i was missing having a live with me whilst on the go and at namm when i saw the One i knew right away this was a perfect box for what people like me wanted.

right now im at a hotel in vegas (business trip) and i can pack the One, an arturia audiofuse interface, akg n90Q headphones, a 17 inch laptop (im typing on now) a galaxy tab s6 , a portable AC power bank for the laptop and One, and related cables into a backpack that fits under the airline seat. i could NOT have put all of these items with the Live's size in the same sall backpack.

not trying to show off gear , just trying to prove a point that the One is designed more travel friendly. its not really made to be your main interface like a Live (and X for sure) could be. its for portability.i would NOT sell a LIVE or X to get it--thats silly. someone mentioned it does not have outputs to send to external gear--well thats not the primary focus and design of the instrument. the live and X are more catered to those setups.

yall cats will continue to try to bash the One and say its weak, and thats fine. there needs to be a different set of opinions on this thread so those who are surfing the internet can read some users who have good results out of this product--myself included.

at the end of the day, inmusic will sell lots of these. those people will not be here chatting about it. they will be busy creating on it, and thats really the point, isnt it?

this is an MPC forum! lets welcome the One for what it can do instead of what it does not do.

i know i know.. my plea wil fall on deaf ears... :tumbleweed:

   , I'm not, because that's why I bought 'THE ONE". I was sent to bring light to the heathens, who walk this earth. Now kneel and let my kick, snare, and highhat's heal you from bad mixes.

Huh?! This makes no sense - the Live (at 16" x 8.8" x 2.7") is shaped different than the One (at 10.7” x 10.7” x 2.1”), but you could easily have put all of that in the same backpack. You just would need to have packed the Live vertically in your pack. It would add 0.8 pounds of weight, though.

Did your use a deck saver with it?

NearTao wrote:Yeah... the live needs a pretty tall backpack... when I had one it barely fit in mine...

I could fit everything to travel for a week in there... but the live stressed that bad boy to the seams

I travelled more then ten times by airplane with Live on a 17" backpack as hand baggage.
So what's the problem?
It fits perfectly in a hand baggage.

My Live in a Magma case fits perfectly in my Ogio bag. Still have room for macbook, chargers and cables.
