Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.

Is it too early to speculate? The updates have been more or less quarterly, so maybe April?

Things I've been waiting for.

Multitimbral Input (2+ years)
Time sig adjust from main screen
Tempo change in standalone
Legato mode for next sequence mode

There are a host of other enhancements that could be made to GUI and improvments to each of the modes. My top 3 are basic to MPC lineage. Akai has yet to address them and, to my knowledge ,
no one knows why.

Maybe 2.8

I'm convinced we've seen the last of the point updates, and instead the next release will be 3.0. And it will take until at least the end of this year to release it.

The one thing I'm sure we'll see in 3.0 is the new drum synth based on Air's Drum Synth 500 (but woefully scaled down in features). The one thing I'm hoping we'll see is proper disc streaming for the Live/X/One and features that would benefit from that.

A lil Wish list that would take current Mpc touchscreen models to the next level.

Resample input option for Audio track mode. That way we could record master song automation, hardware effects sends and record whole live sets to a audio track.

Of course a new color theme for the GUI :worthy: (well at least get rid of the red bar at the top of the screen)

Portamento!

Track select: A option to change tracks using shift plus pad number.

Timing correct & click: Put this future back to traditional location. F1, f2 soft keys. Or Or some type of shift shortcut

Auto select: When picking plugins sounds there is no Auto select like on Renaissance lcd GUI.
"This Major useful especially for the new stand-alone plugins"

Cursor (center button) select:
Have it to behave like the Renaissance window key. To see edit options like on the Renaissance and older MPC models.

Audio/ midi icon and meters: meter to be put on the right hand side of the gui. Good for organization purposes. We read from left to right.

Sequence change:
I'm not sure if this is a bug or it's supposed to operate this way. While the sequence is playing you change to sequence 2 but it doesn't show that it has changed. You have to guess. ( Works on NPC Renaissance and previous MPCs models)

Load recent : add a load recent tab inside of standalone mode once a project has been loaded to quickly return to previous project.

Cursor flow direction: cursor flows through the entire GUI from left and right up and down its. operation as of now it skips in different directions.

Browser: add a copy, paste function to shift menu.

Browser: be able to chronologically arrange files by date and time or abc order.

Disk streaming!

Browser: Optional transit waveform view that can show/hide.
"Good for view long samples to see their content and decide if one wants load or not"

Song mode explode tracks.
"This future was in previous versions of mpc software"

Option to erase all tracks..... :Sigh:

Option to mute all or unmute all tracks .

Main button. Option to show/hide effects and mixer settings from main view by clicking main button once.

Qlink MIDI: Option to change midi level volume using a q-link aka track volume.

Yall forgot about the drum synth already? That's going to be the big thing they push.

I hope for Catalina drivers for the Ren and Black Studio come out. I only hope because the Black Studio is still being sold new.

And lastly a fix for the browser (but that 's probably a 3.0 thing), it's workflow is horrible.

I think aside from a sampler that works more like a real sampler, everything I need would require new hardware heh. I just want a couple more outputs and the CV/Gates. Im totally good with everything else at this point.

EDIT: wait a sec. Portamento/Glide would be rad so I could use it on MPC programs. My Emu and Bass Station both have it though and one of those is handling bass duties usually, and when it gets here the TD-3 will be doing it in its own sequencer..

A "pad perform" always on when you select a keygroup or a plugin program.
this way you dont have to back and forth between prog edit and pad perform when you wanna hear the sound you tweak.
more flexible than hit pad bank D or E to get high notes.

- Improve and add more MIDI Learn functions
- MIDI MAP templates of all existing Akai Pro Devices
- Save User templates Device MIDI map
- Create QWERTY Keyboard short cuts.
- While in standalone, the computer can sees the MPC X, LIVE, ONE's connected USB flash drives, SD CARD, and HD/SSD drives. When connected via USB.
- MPC ONE and Force: Transfer data via Ethernet
- MPC ONE and Force: Send Audio via Ethernet
- Ability to do batch normalization by selected multiple files or selecting all files.
- Add a reset button tab, when pressing the power button. That way the user doesn't have to shut down the MPC, just to restart it.

Which samplers are you comparing it to?

Copy & paste for me since they've added nothing I've been concerned with the last few point updates.

-Modernize the workflow, especially editing (copy, paste, import MIDI, etc)
-Add all software features still missing from standalone, like Merge Program
-Upgraded time stretch algo
-Streaming
-More global sample editing, like Discard All
-Drum Program option for autosampler
-More submixes
-Any VI other than a drum synth

If they still recognize their own software:
-PDC
-Multi-output plugin support
-Stereo panning
-VCA tracks
