If Akai could make a new joint STRICTLY STANDALONE and not available to connect to the software it would be dope! If you want to link up to any software use midi and track out. For those that don't want to track out have the export stems tech like we have now.

1. Give all the dedicated buttons like the 2500 plus Q-Links!
2. Battery, protable!
3. 9 inch touch screen, if it sticks out like the X does so be it. But here's the sweet joint, put a HDMI port on the back so you can add any size screen you want. Put touch external screen technology in it too. So if you buy an external touch screen in 4K you could do it. MV8800 had an external port on it and the MPC 3000.
4. Be able to install up to 4 Terrbyte SSD. Sata drive in it.
5. Tight Sequencer!
7. Explode tracks and export stems.
8. 8 outs and 1 stereo out, Left and right. Monitor outs as well. 4 CV outs! Stereo record in!
9. Regular pads but fat!
10. SD card reader, 2 USB ports.
11. Headphone jack in the front. Volume knob in the front.
12. Dope convertors like the X and live have.
13. +48 mic pre, XLR/TRS input.
14. Only the new Air Effects.
15. 8 Gigs Ram, optional to 256 Gigs you can put in or take it to a certified Akai dealer.
16. No Akai sound content! Optional if a person wants it go to your account and down load it.
17. Keep the internal stuff the X/Live has.

Only thing I don't see is that 9 inch screen, especially if they have lots of 7 inch screens on stock pile.

Ok, not the 9 icnh screen. I wouldn't care if it had the 2500 screen give us HDMI , mouse control and f*** the software and all the functions internally and we would feel like we're on software. If they did that l think producers would be so comfy. Tired of all this update crap!!!

The messed around with the MPC SOFTWARE and it fine, with a MPC X, LIVE, One, Ren, Touch, or Studio attached to it. I would stay away from 3rd party VST and VSTi, just to be safe. I would love to see QWERTY Keyboard functions, Mouse, and HDMI, with disk streaming and 24 audio tracks.

Akai Pro is only 3 moves from making that happen, with this setup. What a missed opportunity.

I would stay away from the MPC software period. The software needs serious improvement.
Get more ram and go beyond 24 audio tracks. Who wants to be limited like that. If there is 8 ram or more you can sample audio and chop like crazy. Have lots of audio tracks. Or turn midi into audio. The machine should be basically optional throughout.

If people want to software use the other MPCs. If you don't use the standalone so everyone can be happy.

24 mono tracks for vocals and instruments, plus all the 128 tracks the MPC has already. If you use the software and the MPC in controller, it's pretty much the same thing exact thing. Honestly that's the best way to learn how to use software.

The mind-frame must be, only a MPC WORK FLOW. We can't go at it, thinking like Cubase, Protools, Ableton, etc. Do that and it works, start thinking like reasons and you're doomed.

The software and being standalone is some what different. I could do more in standalone than to fully trust the software. I can dam sure move faster.

You already know there are those who ant to be untethered from the computer.

The best way for you to use a DAW software is to get a fully fledged software like Protools, Cubase, Logic, Reason, S1V4 etc. MPC software l would never recommend to learn from. You can't even use 3rd party VSTi's in it. You just said that yourself. Bottom line the mpc software is not on a pro level.
Give people options and not imitations.

Akai needs to get rid of the MPC software and revamp to making a new one. Cause Native Instruments is comin with some ish!

In controller mode, everything you physically do on the MPC is done in software. It's a mirror image of each function with a different GUI.

As an UTILITY software for the MPC it is ideal. Try not to compare it to any other software DAW. Use it like you do the MPC in Standalone and it all will click. Try to use it as a Pro Tools, Cubase, Sequoia, Ableton, or Reason replacement and it will die.

You know dam well l would NEVER compare the MPC software to any full DAW software.

Why on earth would l attatch a blue USB cord to a computer , turn it on just to make drums when l can just do that standalone?

PDC issue, with standalone THERE ISN'T ANY!

Because most people don't spend 1K to chop drums.  Perhaps it's different because you don't come from MPC 4000 or Akai Z4/Z8 background with ak sys. I won't lie it's everything we wanted Ak Sys to be. Except for having to switch to controller mode.

Agreed. The MPC Software is a **** mess of shit - probably one of the worst pieces of music software I've ever seen. Literally the only thing I use it for is to transfer Expansions that I've built or bought, and really - that's all it's good for.

Even when I had my MPC Touch, I never looked at that software, instead doing all of my work from the TUI on the MPC Touch.

It's not the software, its your production. Stop blaming the tools.

As a matter of fact l come from, MPC 60/60ll, MPC 3000 SE, 4000, 2000 and 2000XL! I just chop drums and do sound design because l am ITB and sequencing is up to par in Reason.
But if the new MPC came with HDMI and a battery and standalone strictly l would sell my live and get it and do all my production on it like l did on the MPC 2000XL.

Word! The MPC software is garbage! No people l know wanna sit in a pro studio and use it. No PDC, glitchy, tabs you hit on to small etc. Its wack strsight.

As l told CharlesRandolph you don't try teach someone on that garbage you get a real software DAW to teach people. I couldn't believe he said that.

@CharlesRandolph l didn't buy the MPC live just to chop drums either. I bought it for other reasons that lve said over and over. Just using it for drums only came at a later date.

Again it's a UTILITY PROGRAM for the MPC. It was never meant to be full fledged software DAW. What ever you can do on the MPC LIVE, X, ONE in standalone, you can do the same in controller mode. Try it for yourself, you won't have to touch a mouse or keyboard.

Also I'm not telling you have to use your gear. That's your choice, but no matter what people say. The MPC Software in controller mode is 100% usable as a Software based MPC. Ask anyone using a MPC STUDIO or Ren which only functions as a controller.

When I said from MPC 4000 z4/z8 background, I meant as your main machine using AK Sys everyday. Did you used/own the 2000XL longer then you used/owned the MPC 4000?
