Good Akai Force Tutorials/Videos?

Hi there.

Other than GAK (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCauRju ... rbo426KEqw) or Matthew Stratton (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcLHAk ... 20_8SOCa3A), are there any really good and informative tutorials/examples on using the Akai Force?

Website tutorials are good too.

The videos that Akai provides on YouTube is pretty much it. No official tutorials or courses yet.

Try some Matthew Stratton YouTube videos.

As I mentioned above, other than GAK and Matthew Stratton videos.

I've seen a few others, but are there any good learning sources that are not obvious or on a simple google or youtube search?

I'm working on a Force tutorial course, but the problem is that the Force still seems to be in a state of limbo which makes it difficult for people like me to dedicate 100% of our resources to making tutorials for it. We all assumed the 3.04 beta was going to be the next release, but it wasn't to be and instead there is (apparently) a huge update being worked on, big changes, so it's very possible that any content I'm working on now might need completely re-doing when the new firmware comes. I can't really work on something that might potentially be 80% outdated by the time it's ready for release.

Unfortunately it seems the Force is very much a 'beta project' for Akai, something they seem to be making up as they go along. There is also the possibility that it might just fizzle out and be quietly discontinued. I hope not.

Another problem is the Force is an incredibly niche machine, the number of users out there is currently relatively tiny. This is why you're currently just seeing a handful of fragmented youtube vids ATM.

While I agree with you and understand your position, I actually do see a need for the Force.

As a clip-based DAW - it is a very interesting concept to create the pieces that fit and then sculpt the final result.

It happens to be how I create all my music. I usually used a vst like Spectrasonics Stylus RMX and a few other rhythm-based vst's for the grooves and then create tracks with other virtual instruments.

I then began to move away from vsti instruments and more toward hardware. Problem is, the hardware is far from my DAW machine and I do not want to re-arrange my entire room.

The Force allows me to use loop libraries, vst synths and my hardware to create clips and I am loving it - but getting used to the workflow is very difficult.

I am getting there.

Especially look at GrooveBlox - for the most part, it works well with Force but some of the loops don't 100% line up for some weird reason. They work great in almost all DAWs.
