:worthy: Exactly! Yoda doesn't your 3000 have a VGA to connect a monitor to it ?

Caustic Yoda wrote:Akai are so lost, theres so many things the community has been asking for since day 1 and they roll out all these half cooked hardware updates, no way i can take these guys seriously when others are doing it properly, for mpc duties i will stick with the 3000 and live for gigs but dont expect i will buy an inmusic toy again

Haha yes it has a vga out, i havent got around to trying that yet but would be lovely, only recently upgraded from the 2500, the 3000 kills it in so many ways, midi timing as a master clock is amazing got whole studio syncd off it doesnt miss a beat, multi mode midi, makes the live feel like the cheapest toy, still good for leaving the house but maybe not much of that happening for awhile

2GB is plenty if they can sort out disk streaming. I really can't see them deviating from using the same internals across the entire range, it keeps costs down and simplifies development for them. In the end, 2GB is still significantly more than any other standalone box out there.

sp303 can stream 3hrs worth of audio from a 64mb card quality takes a bit of a dive at that rate but can do 30min in hifi this device is from 2000, no real excuse to not have disk streaming with 2gb ram and 2tb hdd, currently our input thru goes silent when loading a new project for live shows is real vibe killer, disk streaming would be nice

^^ THIS ^^

I don't know why people think 2 GB of RAM is an issue on the MPC still (well aside for the current lack of disc streaming, so it's impossible to save large files without losing them in a memory dump). That said, I really hope disc streaming is around the corner soon.

The issue is not the 2GB of RAM it's the fact, that the user doesn't have access to actually 2 GB of RAM since it's shared with other applications. So there's about 1.2 to 1.3 gb of usable RAM.

For me, Disk Streaming is good for large multi layer sample sets, that would take too long to LOAD into RAM. However with disk streaming, I hope they increase the amount of direct sample layers the MPC can use. Without having to use simultaneous play.

See this what lm talking about. If the 3000 has VGA they could put hdmi on the back of the new live 2. With mouse activation , you can turn it on or off, l would but it for that alone. I would setup another production station. I wouldn't need the MPC software. I would get the Wavestate and coonect that to the MPC live and go. Get myself a Ultra thin 40 inch 4k curve monitor screen and turn the F*** up!!!

Yeah, I have to say - not having an HDMI out on the Live 2 is a missed opportunity. I wouldn't even need it to be touch-screen compatible - just enough to mirror what's on the Live's main screen for viewing. I've got my eyes on a massive 65" 4K panel to put in my studio, and I'd love to be able to throw my Live's screen up on that.

The average computer lappy has 4 gig ram. If the MPC going to be sort of a computer also, it should be matched. With optional upgrade. Its not asking much.

Dies anyone know if disk streaming is coming?

Try this: create a beefy 4-5 minute track with lots of tracks. Now go into song mode and try recording audio for the same duration of 4-5 minutes (to maybe, say for instance, lay down some vocals over an entire track, or record some guitar or other live instrumentation). Do that for all allowed audio tracks.

Now try to save your song - and see what happens. Spoiler: you won't like what happens.

Disc streaming will basically allow the current gen of MPC's to (allegedly) record limitless audio tracks, or at least step up the number from the current anemic amount allowed. It could also open up new potentials for larger sample libraries and more complex key groups, etc. There's just a ton of potential.

All that said, how Akai actually ends up implementing it is anyone's guess, though.

It's been stated as much by Akai multiple times in the past year over at the Gearslutz MPC Live thread. It was also confirmed in the NAMM videos with Sonic State when the MPC One was being shown off. Is it coming via the Live 2? Yeah - I wouldn't hold my breath.

 Gawd dam 65" incher lol

Akai would of murdered it with HDMI. We don't need more CV or dam speakers. That way you can keep your head leveled to your screen and not constantly looking down. Definitely wouldn't have to worry about PDC. HDMI port would solve that. Be in standalone and use the new Air effects. Abd they should put the Air instruments on it too. Yeah there's the ram again.

Dammit the MV8800 has a tilt screen on it. Akai would kill it with a permanent tilt touch screen.
