2.6 to 2.7.2 , should I do the update ?

Hi.

I´have the MPC Live. I'm not sure if i should do the update. I am completely satisfied with the 2.6 firmware. No crashes and so on. I noticed that the 2.7 update had some problems and bugs. Is that fixed now? What's really new in the 2.7.2 version, compared to the 2.6 version? Except the Ableton Live mode. Is the update helpful or should I wait for 2.8 or 3.0? Thanks for your opinions

There's a thread on 2.7.2 why didn't you pose the question there?

I have upgraded to 2.7.2 from 2.6 and its running well. No problems. I used the USB firmware upgrade. I like that better.

I remember mine doing something funky when I upgraded it with the Mac updater, reflashed it with the USB one right after and its been perfect ever since heh.

Frankly, if you're having zero issues on your current firmware and don't want any of the features that came with 2.7, then why bother upgrading? I'd just leave it. That said, there's no issues on 2.7.2 that I know of.

For reference, this is all you get going from 2.6 to 2.7.2:

- A ton of bug fixes
- Support for MPC One.
- MPC One now supports Network MIDI.
- Live Control seamless integration (Ableton Live 10.1.2 or later). You should get a free Ableton Live Lite 10 license added to your Akai account.
- TUI Matrix tab, TUI Mixer tab and a variety of other controls for Ableton Live
- MPC Live now support USB to Ethernet adaptors.
- Preferences have improved organisation. WI-FI, Ethernet, Bluetooth tabs are grouped and are now beneath the Info tab.
