Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.
I have my MPK249 plugged into the USB port on my MPC One. Works great when in Standalone mode. Can't figure out how to use it in Controller mode though. Is there a way to use the same USB connection, or do I need to use the MIDI ins/outs on the MPC and MPK as a 2nd connection? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If l were you try putting your MPK USB into your computer when in controller mode. Go into the software to help it recognize the MPK. I have a live and don't really use controller mode.
Hope it works

That does work. But was trying to avoid having to move cables back and forth.

... so damn, I'm guessing there is NO way to use the 249 while plugged into the MPC ONE in controller mode? LOL
While there is somewhat of a workaround, freeing up that USB outlet on your computer is so clutch!!!
