Hey...
I ran into an issue today, wondering if anyone else can recreate this.
I recorded, chopped up some samples. Made a quick drum kit to accompany, then went into audio tracks to lay down a little bass. Once I recorded my part (4 bars long), I played it back to check out my work. It played thru the sequence perfectly the first time, but every time since then it stops playing about 3/4 of the way thru the sequence. If I change the number of bars in the audio tracks it changes where it mutes. If I start a new track, and just record the bass and do nothing else, it does not mute the audio 3/4 of the way thru. I know Akai's implementation of the audio channels has been lackluster in the past, but this is unusable. I'm hoping its something I'm doing wrong so I don't have to send this thing back to the store.

I have checked... even gone so far as to create a whole new song. In a 4 bar recording, it stops playing audio at bar 3, beat4. If I double the length of the track it stops at bar 6, beat 2. etc. I can go into track edit and clear auto a thousand times... nothing. This is MPC 2.7.2 by the way.

In the wave form, everything is there. the first time I replay the sequence after recording to check my work, it plays thru fine. Once it starts the loop over again, it produces the phenomena I described above.

And then of course every time I play it after.

Saving the project, restarting the MPC, does nothing to correct it.

If i convert the track to a program and chop it up, all of the information is there to the end of the loop. So it just has something to do with the audio tracks.

Not sure what you're doing wrong, but your issue made me add a bassline with my Ibanez bass guitar to a track I'm toying around with. Set up a 4 bar sequence, added my track, recorded my bass - it records fine. Went into overdub mode automatically. I was able to copy and paste my take into other (longer, 8 bar) sequences just fine.

Everything working fine on my end. Not sure what you're doing wrong. Anyway you can video record what you're doing and show us?

yes. all the way to the end of the loop. I can even convert it to a program, chop it to 16 regions and play it into the sequence and the audio is all there.

And you’ve checked all of your automation lanes to make sure you didn’t accidentally record a mute event or something?

And try to make a brand new project, and just simply do a 4 bar easy bass loop. Does it still happens then?

If no: then it is something in your current project. If yes; device might be faulty..

This bug happened in the MPC LIVE as well, not sure what was causing it. Reset the MPC ONE back to factory and create a new project. If that does not fix it, contact support and request a new unit.
