I have a short .wav file that I'd like to use on my MPC One in Standalone.

Volume is perfect when playing it from my PC. I copy the file as it is on my SD card and on the MPC when in Browse, the volume is unchanged, so I load it. I go into Sample Edit and when listening to the sample in Trim or Chop Mode, the volume is unchanged.

But now it's getting strange:
When I switch to Program or when I assign the whole, a trimmed or a chopped sample to a pad it is barely audible!

Things I tried:
  • Normalizing the sample anywhere in my workflow does not help
  • Using Gain Change in Sample Edit clips the sample
  • Boosting the Volume in Pad Mix & Track Mix by each 6dB does not help
  • Creating a new Project did not solve the problem

Any ideas? Is it a bug or is there something wrong with my .wav? You can try it yourself: Link to wav

I see the bitrate is higher in your version but the problem persists. I load the .wav into my project, hearing it in Trim or Chop in Sample Edit plays it with the wished volume but when I hit Program/assign it to a Pad it's barely audible :(

I used the .wav with the higher bitrate for this one, just a minimal setup that reproduces the behavior.

Thanks in advance!

Go to Project Edit
Filter/ENV
Adjust the cutoff on the filter
You have it set to band 2, so it's only passing the band 2 frequency of the sample.

If you turn off the filter you'll hear the sample at normal levels.

It's easier to see what is going on, with the project. Sometime people explain things that seems complex. But most of the times, it's just 2 button presses or one knob turn. What's crazy is we're the best tech support for this platform.

Thank you! :)

Go to Preference
Scroll to Program
Make sure Band 2 is not the Default Drum/Keygroup filter.

Yeah, you guys are great! Really nice forum experience. I've set that as default by mistake -.- Now in retrospect you can even hear it's a filter and not the volume...
