Haven’t dug in to this but if it can be powered and do midi over usb all you should need is one cord the usb from the keys to the live. Works perfectly with the keystep, advance 61 and even the apc, although I haven’t messed with the apc much.

Things just work with the wires, like my mouse for instance. The thing is l can connect that to the MPC live and make a track without turning on a computer. I somewhat wanna get back to that.

I’ve never sequenced on computer. Always Triton or MPC as sequencer/master.

Reaper is only used for recording audio.

OMG :shock: WHAT? You never ever never ever ever sequenced on a computer in a DAW?
I never used Reaper but my first DAW. I sequenced was Digital Perfromer at my friends house. The Cubase, l didnt like it. Then the MPC 2000XL. :)
Then Reason, it was like being on the MPC but in software form. Now l sequence in Studio One 4.6, beast! So as of now l use 3 to sequence from.
1. MPC live
2. Reason 11
3. S1v4.
I had the Trinity, gthe sequencer it wasn't for me.

You must track out from the Triton into Reaper :vomit: l hate tracking out.

I use a Korg nanoKEY Studio over Bluetooth with my MPC Live when I'm out and about. Works fantastic for pads/strings and playing things that don't require precise timing. There's some latency that doesn't make it conducive to percussive elements though. If that's a concern, then I'd stick to wires.

Thanks for the heads up. With that and price, I'll likely get the wired CME Xkey 37-key.

100%! Bluetooth is trash, it's really not made for live instrumentation.

Oh yeah l remember messing with the Kronos and l didnt like the sequencer either but the sounds in it are grade A dope!

Dam dude you never used a sequencer in a DAW. So in the future do ypu think you will?

I have experience of both worlds. :mrgreen:

Thank you. That's what l was looking for. On that note l will get the wired CME. I just wished Akai had put a few more VSTi plugins into the live. I can't wait to get this.

I knew some people said it had latency problems. 25 or 37 is what lma get. That will be my lil mobile baby lol

Im going to get into the ipad ios stuff soon. I am going to follow technology so it can enhance my talent , not looking for to be super speedy. So l won't be in the dark.

Have you ever put your hadnds on one and touched the keys? Its like my typing keyboard the keys feel dope. Only thing is l know my fingers are a lil big but l will work through it and do my playing in chops. Im kinda excited to get the combo if that and the live together. :)

Ipad with USB C audio/midi interface works great. Keep the Bluetooth for mouse and qwerty keyboard and listening, where real time is not essential. We do not want any noticeable latency. It's like recording vocal and hearing the voice 6 ms later, it would drive the vocalist crazy.

So stick with the shortest cables possible. :nod:
