Yeah that's a shame. My mobile rig l want less as possible. For now l will do the CME and live
I didn't want to get into the business of wireless nonsense and latency either.
CharlesRandolph wrote:
I'm saying it for the iPAD, other than that the CME and MPC Live should be pretty straight forward setup.

Shame the MPC's does not send MIDI OUT and Audio Out over USB in standalone. that would've solve the whole interface issue with the ipad.

You don't need wires with an iPad setup for most of the stuff, and you certainly don't need "shielded" USB cables. (pro tip: there's little risk of "crosstalk" in the digital realm) Virtually all of the higher quality iPad apps come with Ableton Link, and they will sync with your MPC Live over your WiFi with no latency. Slap a USB camera connection kit into your iPad, and you'll be able to hook up your CME direct via USB. Otherwise, yeah - you're going to be using USB/MIDI cables.

:hmmm: The CME 37 co.es with its own cable, USB to MIDI, the 5 pin midi will go into the MPC. I will try the ipad later with the info l got from here. Thanks

Did you really say, there is no LATENCY over WIFI? The CME XKEY 37 has about 3 to 10 ms of latency, depending on the Bluetooth device and how many device is using the 2.4 Ghz band. Did you forget that WIFI and BLUETOOTH both use the 2.4 frequency along with most consumer devices.

Are you saying USB 3 doesn't have interference? So companies just make shield cables for no reason? I think I'll go with Apple on this. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201542

When you start looking at iPad, just make sure the cables you get are Apple MFI Certification. That's because USB C cables have lots going on and they are not all made equally. Search Benson Leung USB-C and you see what I mean.

Check out Wire cutter as well. USB C are something else I tell you.

Congrats on the sale, I need to get on the board for this year, but real life has been kicking my butt (but I am emplyed so the complaint is minimal).

That's the setup I used for a solid year. When I got my Xkey, the AIR had just come out, I think there was a screw up - I was able to get the 37 key AIR for like $200, didn't even realize they had different versions, but I rolled with it.

The good - the weight, the bad, the shape and the buttons. I ended up buying the bag specifically FOR the keyboard as it didn't fit right in anything I had. It just felt weird going to work, having a bag with the MPC & iPad in it, then having the keyboard over my shoulder as well. I used it for obviously making music, but also practicing the piano - I was never trained and wanted to get my weight up, but the keys made certain finger layouts almost painful - I distinctly remember struggling to do B diminished in C major, sure some of it was my lack of skill, but the lack of key height means that your fingers have to stretch a 'little' more. The buttons are cheeks straight up - specifically "pitch". Your fingers will adapt to the thresholds for getting variations in the keys, but pitch is just "ugh".

I've moved on from the XKey these days, its been in the bag just laying there for maybe 6 months now. I'm using the Launchpad MK3 now withe the Live directly. I'm less concerned about getting better on the keyboard when I was physically going to work, and more concerned about quick setup, no longer had an iPad (it was left on top of my car, I sped off, it got ran over, only just replaced it a month or so ago), and it easily fits into any bag. I am planing on getting a MIDI kit for the iPad (pro so USB-C) and the Launchpad can do MIDI out to (2) devices so I'll do both iPad & MPC Live then.

Peace and blessings. Thanks.
Man before the C19 man l had so much going on it was ridiculous. I was getting pulled 15 different ways. Plus l gotta get my projects out and lm almost finished that. I thought l would chill for at least 15 days cause l saw others doing it  Man l got 4 days off then the dam phone rings. I can't just not answer cause l can burn bridges.

On top of that chick l was dating l cut that off. Doing that took a load off,l feel more comfy, getting on my nerves while lm diing my thing l hate that. I ficus deeply when doing my music, soon as l get in the lab chick wants attention. I gave her attention alright and bye! Tired of the crap. But this weekend l already got it where no one calls me until Next Tuesday. Im not doing any musuc, lm going to bum out lol lm going to be the laziest sack of crap those three days. I git all 6 sessons of Blackist, and all 3 John Wicks!

I have to talk to my attorney about the new ventures also so its all good.

The CME l know l won't be able to rock it like my 76 key keyboard . l'll get use to it. I will do stuff in chops. It will be my mobile unit. I had to plan a nice mobile unit. CME will be my first piece. I know one thing Splice better stop spending me emails or lma kill tjeir CEO  l jate that company and l don't know why l despise them so much.

I’ve lost a few good coffee mugs and a bag of fast food this way.
