Hey y'all, just got my hands on an MPC1k with JJOS2XL installed. I'm keen to learn this machine inside and out, but I'm not sure where to start. Would it be best to first learn the standard OS, then dig into JJ? I've been looking at the guides on MPC Tutor and am considering buying and working through the Beatmaking on the MPC1000 book, then switching to JJ and working through the JJOSXL Sampling Bible. Any reviews of these guides (are they suitable for someone who's never touched an MPC before?) would be much appreciated. Cheers

I'd get the original Akai manual first for basic operation. Wouldn't go back to Akai OS though.
The books are good but when you're starting out they can make it seem harder than it is.
