Im at this point with my Live too. If something new comes, neat, bonus for me. But if I never hear another word from Akai again, I can get everything I need to done and then some. Im still hoping for them to actually bring the sampler up to 2020 specs, but if not, I just got another E-Mu a couple weeks ago, so Ive got plenty of "real" sampler to go around when I need it and Im still on the lookout for a cheap EPS16 hehe.

OK, but said dude did not post anything about 2.8 - according to your screen grab in the OP - so is it possible this will be the "3.0" that everyone has been waiting for? Just wondering where you got 2.8 from... :hmmm:

I feel the same about my MPC Live, though I'll be bitter about it (if anything, just because of all of the stuff Akai's marketing peeps have been teasing about stuff coming... but then they never deliver in this scenario).

Isn't the current version 2.7.2.9? So why would they skip 2.8 to go straight to 3.0????

It's not impossible to jump to 3.0 bit as you saud they could go to 2.8. As posted there isn't any mention of ANY VERSION in the OP post that was shown. He talks about a MAIN FEATURE, wonder what that is. Would love to see that. 50% of things we asked for is there that's something to look forward to. Im a lil excited

It's like this if Akai drops the new MPC MKII then its safe to say 3.0 is going to be on board. It makes no since for the MKII and drop it with 2.8 or 2.9.

3.0 might have been coming but this virus crap hit.
Anyone knows if Akai stopped production on the MKII? If they did we might see 2.8.

Peace

some people do research before buying a product, I came on here and read all the negative aspects of the MPC live before i went out a bought one... i bought it knowing the flaws (that i learned from owners of the product here on the site) and i felt at it's current functionality it was worth the money. what is your problem with others doing the same? i can understand if you have stock in in-music that you would want to shut up people who point out issues with these products...

but because of this place, you have things like the pad upgrade for the 1000 (the original design was defective) ... how about OS2 for the 5000? we only have a successful forum here because members here offer the support they couldn't really get anywhere else.

Thanks, this is what I wanted confirmed. You're making an assumption this will be 2.8 based on the last release being 2.7.2. No worries - that's all I was asking.

I'm assuming you've been around the music software world long enough to know that we don't tend to see every version point update in between major releases. Devs constantly skip straight to the next big release, is all I'm saying.

For the record, I don't really care if they call it 2.8 or 3.0 - just as long as your OP screenshot boast truly does turn out to satiate 50% of the bitching we frequently read about (here and elsewhere). Time will tell, of course. :smoker:
