If you really want to hear what your MPC X sounds like....

Ok. That's with any DAW. Not everyone switched over toS1v4 or Ressin, Sinar, Reaper nor Bitwig. That's normak. Luna has to get free stock plugins like compressors, reverbs, limiters, phasers etc. Don't at the time support controllers but l think UAD will fix that. Etc.

In my case l wouldn't case for one lm happy with Reasin and S1v4. 2nd Im not returning to the Mac world. I am at peace in the PC world. Not going the interface route either, l absolutely love being inside the box. S1v4 finally has a tight sequencer. The functions that it has people sleppin on it.

Love the separate mastering part, how you use K-14 metering to master.


It saved me from buying a drum function from a 3rd party that l can randomize my drums on the fly to get better patterns. This just a few out of many. Im big on getting what l need and learning it instead of getting something new because its new and not learning what l have. If people get luna lm happy for them. For ME l will stay where l am.

I would say FL Studio is prodution driven also. I would say you can produce, mix and master in S1V4 because of its tools, so its focused on tracking, mixing, mastering and music production. I can go on....

Protools with the HDX system is definitely for tracking and mixing. Major studios across the world have these three components.
1. Protools
2. HD/HDX system
3. Mac, a powerful Mac.

I don't see luna taking over. There are people that ate complaing about PT so some will switch over to Luna. If they have a mac and Apollo or Arrow. Those who are PC bound won't worry about it. Just like l don't worry about Logic cause its Mac bound. I will like to learn Luna just to know it.

LUNA doesn't have to take over, all they have to do is keep improving it. I don't know how many people own a supported interface, but lets say 30,000 users do. That's who they are building it for. So all they have to do is slowly converter them over. Eventually it will be published to Windows OS.

But for this BETA release there is no need to try and support two OS. They are very deliberate with this release. Thunderbolt UA Apollo & Arrow, macOS 10.14 Mojave or macOS 10.15 Catalina. Get all the bugs corrected there, then slowly move over.

For ME though lm not going over. Again if others do ok cool.

Beta testing, ummm S1V4 did beta testing and had both computer platforms rocking. PC and Mac. Reason, Bitwig and others. But we shall see.
They need to get in "Bounce To Track",
S1v4 has a dope method.

They will improve no doubt. But one thing l hope they do for THOSE that buy it, put top notch native plugins in it. Right now you gotta buy UAD's plugins which is dough.

I did that with PT spent thousands for no dam reason. Not happening again. And no more programs dealing with iLok. And you know well how l feel about OFFLINE ACTIVATION! l have found a way to do it my way and keeping my way fresh!

If people have this l see it where it can be mobile. Laptop , Apollo or Arrow, 37 midi keyboard and Luna and you can get up and go. Can't do that with a HDX system.

is there a comparison video yet? i am not sifting through 5 pages of non-sense (ie: 5 pages of no comparison videos)

Not from what l see. There are vids on Youtube though, don't know if they are comparing. I saw like 4 and got tired.

The Apollo and Arrow interface work on Windows and MAC OS. However, since MAC is a pretty closed system it's easier to develope for.

When you buy Apollo or Arrow it comes with Plug In Bundles.

Yeah, its not for everyone. macOS is not my main, OS because my Software DAW stopped supporting it. They only update for Windows, which is fine for me. My goal is to know LUNA, since it's at the start. I don't want to play catch up, after more features are added. Especially for a big player like UA.

The functions it has in it is ridiculous , its not even fair. So lma get deep into S1v4 where l can have it working the way l want.

I'm using Sequoia 15 by MAGIX and Softtude Console 1 plug in along with built in plugs of Sequoia. I'm interested in LUNA, to see how the integration with console one and other control surfaces pans out. The MKII version of Console One supports UAD Plug in. I also need an long term interface for this MAC and the UA Apollo x8 is a candidate on the list.

What's your signal flow looking like?

I just purchased a Twin X, so i've been playing around with the routing and tracking to hear what sounds best. Running Luna as well.

The greatest combo for me is :
1 : The 8 available OUTS of my MPC X go inside an SSL 6 Mixing desk. ( 6 dedicated INS + 2 available EXT INS so 10 INS in total for the SSL 6 )
