Being able to rename pads would make it easier during the mixdown process. Need to adjust the level of Closed Hi Hat 3? Oh, there it is. As opposed to, darn it... which pad was closed hi hat 3 on again?

I agree and I also think the bank-pad id is good to have since the buttons (on the MPC X) are labels this way. I think the default format should be something like "MIDI Note (BankPad)". This way you could always see which bank and pad we're talking about, but the important thing is the note number. Or as you said, if it can be renamed, what YOU designated to that MIDI note number (which is what it is behind the scene anyways.

In this day and age, one would think a lot of these things would've been ironed out over the last 30 years, and that the user interface become more user friendly, not keep the cryptisism of the old days. I mean, we don't use hammer and chisel anymore, and we almost don't even use pens or pencils anymore either. We have these things called computers...

I'll conclude with the obvious extension to this request: re-map the pads to different note number in standalone. It's ingenious that you can use the software and that I can edit the XML program files in notepad, but it would make more sense if it was integrated as an edit point in standalone, which is where I spend my time. I don't want the stupid software, which is the reason I bought the MPC X, or rather I don't want to use a different computer to change some things on the MPC X.

I am pretty sure the it was the MPC is supposed to be the controller, no? So, what? You have to use computer B to edit parameters on things in computer A, which is the computer actually using the things with parameters... again, a ridiculous situation.

Give us edit capabilities within the MPC X.

1.Would like to have the ability to lock pads to performance mode, to browse presets/adjust plug-in synth params without pads returning to regular non performance mode.

2.Would be nice to be able to lock tracks to programs..so all sequences would have the same programs on the same tracks.

3.portamento

4.A way to save FX chains. Also FX favorite list/improved FX browsing.

5. Autosampler drum machine setting. Sample to drum program.

the ability to tune or change the pitch of the 3 built in synth plug-ins.... i know on the tube synth you can adjust the tune of the 2 main oscillators (not the sub oscillator) but come on guys... some of us want the synths to conform to the samples and not the other way around. If those are in fact ports of existing VST synths, maybe they forgot the MPC in standalone mode doesn't have a VST wrapper with pitch built in.

Workaround....

Add the AIR Pitch Shifter to program...

Not Exactly what you lookin for, but creates some interesting sounds

yeah that is the only way i could find as well.... it just doesn't make sense that those plug-ins can't be tuned. You can tune samples in 5 different spots for christ's sake.

I would LOVE to have better XYFX options. first of all - enable to have more than 1-2 effects at once and make it at least 4 and make it possible to use the QLINKS to change 4 effects at the same time.

My general idea here is to make the MPC similar to SP404 in its FX possibilities, I'd even suggest copying quite a lot from the 404 because A LOT of people use it with the MPC as an FX unit, so why not just make similar things inside the MPC already?

For example a lofi vinyl effect or glitchy beat repeat similar to 404 as an FX which you can use on the MPC would be amazing.

I mean, straight up, if Akai Pro and Roland were the same company I'd see the logic of making the costumer buy two products, but I don't see why Akai shouldn't just make the MPC more similar to the SP404 (where it should).

How did you..? But..? I guess it's time.. Here's a beta-preview of what's coming; MPC 404. Don't tell anyone.
