Which Drum Machine Sounds the Best?

Test your ears and see if you can tell, which machine is what?

Same turntable, Mixer, Needle, Cables, and Levels.

Sampled into 4 Drum Machines: MPC ONE, MPC 4000, MPC 2000XL and MPC 1000. No effects, eq, filters, or anything was added. All recorded into the same interface, out of analog outputs. The below link is a WAV file, recorded at 16 BIT 44.1. Listen to the WAV file and list the order of drum machine you think it came from. Post your answer in the comment.

It was recorded in LUNA. Now what is your order?

I think the third one sounded the slightest more 'full' to me, whatever that might mean. That said, they're all nearly the same, if not the same. If you told me that it was the same loop played four times, and I'm just imagining that the third one sounds better I would believe you.

since I dont have any of them (only te 2000 without xl). This is more guessing.

this is a hard test but here is my try at it
2000xl, 1000 ,4000 , mpc uno

number c sounds best to me.

(side note) i got a ear infection in my left ear too.

Actually surprised at how different they all sound. Listening with my ATH M50s

I'm 99.9% sure that 1 is 2000xl cause if you open the file in an audio editor you can see the 'issue' in timing when the loop repeat

Ok l can't say which is which.
2000XL haven't heard that since 2012. Never had a 1000, 4000 worked on that maybe like 2004? The One l dont have.

Didn't had a 4000, and only played around a few times on the 2KXL.

Also have to mention that i had a xanax, half a gram of snow white, and a pretty okay morning dump. All most flawless victory.
