Can't get my new MPC One to slave or master tempo via MIDI DIN.

MPC Midi Monitor clearly shows midi clock messages are being received but the BPM doesn't follow.

When I set MPC as master, my workstation isn't getting clock info (and MPC monitor out isn't showing anything either).

A quick google search showed this was an issue with Live few years ago, I'm hoping it hasn't trickled down to the One:

If you want to have the mpc one as a master, go to preferences, sync: put send on Midi clock. Then make sure the send port 1 is midi out A and you have this output connected to the midi input of your workstation.

On your workstation, you should find the settings where you can set it to receive midi clock.

Was looking for an answer to this, so this is useful.I've done the above and set the midi to out A, and the timing is sloppy.

I have the octatrack receiving midi, and I just can't get the pair to sync.

Mpc - midi send-midi clock-send mmc - 30 drop-start time 0000- send port MIDI OUT A

Octatrack - receive transport--receive clock.

Would really like to get to the bottom of this, as the two machines will be playing together in a libe way, as well as being in the studio.

Cheers.

It's definitely a settings issue. I have a digitone and a4 and they run smoothly with the mpc live as a master. But i dont have time now to go and check it, sorry.

Thanks mate. I seem to have it down fine for triggering one shots, either in slave or master.. The issue now seems to be with clips and them not being in sync.

Might need a new thread if it's a clips issue.

When you use the midi clock send and transport receive, it will only just sync; meaning if you play start on the mpc, the octatrack starts too (with the bpm from the mpc).

For clips, i am not sure how this works and if this is possible.
