Should this be possible?

Program Edit -> Effects Tab -> insert effect, seems to only add the effect to a single pad. Even after selecting all pads, effects are only applied to a single pad.

What am I missing?

You are missing the manual, lol.

Just flowers with you.

On the main menu see the hidden screen (eyeball), left of the word “SEQUENCE”.

Unhide it, you can assign pad, program, master inserts there.

The 4 icons are PAD, PROGRAM, CHANNEL, MASTER.

This is easier than searching through menus trying to find these same things.

Add the Effect to the Whole Program....via the Main Screen

They didn't think this out fully. They should call it Pad Edit, not Program Edit. If we apply an effect in Program Edit, it should affect the entire program. But what can we expect, when to bring up the Mixer in the software you have to press, Shift+Ctrl+Alt+M Why can't we just press M :Sigh:

It’s hard to add all these features and options to the MPC without sacrificing some of it straight forwardness.

This is what happens when there are too many variations of the same machine, released at the same time. The workflow is all over the place.

End User Logic: Effects in the Program Edit, affect the Program.
Akai Pro Logic: Effects in the Program Edit, assigns effect to one pad.

With the machines sharing the same or very similar OSs, I attribute this to legacy programming. The workflow should've been overhauled when the Renaissance was released, or at least with the Live. In retrospect, the software was obviously an afterthought, but no way so much of the workflow should be stuck in the 90s with a DAW in included.

I still do not see how to save the whole 4 FX stack. After spending a lot of time getting the FX stack just right, I would like to be able to save all 4 FX at once.

Instead of just saving the preset for each FX & then having to remember the FX stack.

Unfortunately, you can't save an FX chain for the moment, FX chain presets are not supported.
