You can do that with the velocity on the main page right?
one, what about usin cc7 and recordin that onto track? cc7 controls channel volume (or midi volume?) - anyways q6 imo fits just perfectly to it ... and if ya like it set q4 to cc10 to pan it right away too ...
bleepfreak: i m next to sure that tilt velo hasnt been defined or described in any manual ... i used to discuss about tilt velo a while back with ravael in here ... but i can't remember the threadtitle nor can i remember when it more or less was and if i remember correctly noone could say for sure what it is in the end anyways ... so lets try again ...
for a while i knew that tilt velo isnt really the reversed value of velocity but since i didnt find anything about it i just let it be more or less that (reversed value of velocity) ... anyways a few weeks back i got sceptic on a sample coz i got tilt velo and velo both controllin amplitude ... it got me interested and so i removed all other modulations so that i had a sample and setup tilt velo to amplitude - 100, and velocity to amplitude +100 - and i expected it to sound allover the same ... but it didn't ... the difference in amplitude when i pressed a pad hard or low was not that much ... but it was not the same loudness level if i hit with velocity 1 or 127 (strange was that if setup in the above way the stronger i hit the pad the less loud the sample was played back ...) .... so i tested the other extreme and reversed the values of mod depth (tilt velo +100, velo -100) ... then it was like with velocity 1 = nada is heard, whilst with 127 velocity sample was played back medium ( to my ears less than both - hard and low hits - the other way round) ...
qiute surprised of it all i set down, rolled a spliff and tried to draw a conclusion about it ... conclusion 1 was that tilt velo has even more influence or priority to its destinations then velocity ... conclusion 2 didn't come up from itself so i had to go back to 4k to go ahead ... at a certain point i doubled one value whilst keeping the other ... ie. tilt velo to amplitude +25, and velocity to amplitude - 50 and surprisingly the sample if played back low or hard in that way - again to my ears - sounded allover the same (with 1 and 127 velocity) ...
.... so as i see it now i think that tilt velo has somehow the opposite effect of the reversed and halfed value of velocity (it reverses in which direction the strength you hit the pad worx in opposite direction of velocity with double impact more or less ...)
sorry for explaining badly - my english sux - but here goes another attempt of explanation which is hopefully better
to achieve opposite effect as velocity: tilt velo = velocity/2 and then reversed ... meaning that velocity of +20 has the opposite effect as tilt velo = - 10, if both are set on one program at the same time in that relation they cancel each other out and there is no effect to amplitude at all ....
to achieve the same effect with tilt velo and velo i guess worx more or less like this:
tilt velo to amplitude = +10, should be more or less velocity to amplitude = +20 ... anyways what i noticed this isn't really the case ... but this is imo mainly due to something else .... and here goes another assumption

... i guess that tilt velo in this case (tilt velo = +10, or any positive value) starts from an amplitude level and makes weaker hits less loud - tilt velo here cuts amplitude the weaker you hit the pad - whilst velocity starts from the same amplitude level in this case (velo = +20, or any positive value) and adds amplitude if pad is hit stronger ... which destination parameter amplitude at the end stamds fpr i dont really know - but i guess its one of the levels somewhiere in program mode - the most likely candidate imo is the one in edit 1 page in bottom left quarter of window - again speculation only now ... forgot to check that, anyone knows thisone?
hopefully my thinkering and attempt to explain didn't cause further confusion on the matter ... this is no definition and dont take it for true or granted since its based on my speculations only ... so if yaou wanna do me a favour just check it out and let me know what you think about it ...
