Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi everyone!

I'm using a Gotek drive to save my files into an usb drive for a while, but there is one thing that got my attention. First, I thought that it could be my clouded mind that was playing tricks on me :smoker: , but now I'm sure that sometimes, the program file that I have just saved in my drive are simply gone.

I had just finished saving my files and turned off my mpc, and when I was going to load the project again, the .APS file was gone.

Have you had this kind of trouble before?

Thanks!

Ps: Its is always the .APS (all programs file) or .ALL (all sequences and songs) that disappear. At least it happens with me.

Is your USB drive partitioned?

Yeah, it is.

The strange thing is that it saves everything fine, but from times to times, an .APS file will desapear from its partition. I used the USB_Floppy_Manager_v1.40i to create the partitions.
Now I'm making a backup from the files right after I turn off my mpc, just to avoid any headache.

That's weird. I have had a song/sequence file go missing from time to time but I am certain that it's just me being careless.

Are you saving ALL sounds with the program file?

When I create partitions I always name them something like DAN1 DAN2 DAN3 and I always ALWAYS save the song and sequence first and then the program file. that way I always know I have those two files on my first disk. You probably already got a good system worked out, but doing it like that has saved me a lot of headache.

Yeah man, that really weird.

For now, what I'm doing is to backup the flash drive every time that I finish a beat, but sometimes I forget :WTF:

Since I have noticed this, before turning of my mpc, I double check to see if the files are there. The strange is that only the .all or .aps files are gone (when this happens), but the song files are always there.

I don't know if this happens because my jumper configuration or what
