Hello everyone,

I have my MPC1000 slaved to a Squarp Pyramid, with midiclock (I haven't used any external midi other than clock in the problem below).

I updated my JJOS from the old free 4.99 to the newest free 3.16, but have run into a problem or a bug (which is weird because it uis kind of a core feature, and I don't find any mentioning of it anywhere)??

When realtime recording the pads, with TC on, the triggered sounds are instant, but the recording of the midi is delayed 1 or 2 steps (16th notes).

If I set TC to off, and record, then put on TC and FIX my notes, they all come to the right place too. But when recording without TC the gridedit size becomes a quarternote wide, so it just start to flimmer when recording/play is on.

I also tried then to go back to the 4.99, and it worked perfect (but the 4.99 does not have the gridedit with copy/paste/delete, which is what I tried to get with the 3.16).

I then tried the the 3.16 again, same problem. I then installed the newest OS2XL 3.67 (without password), and there it also works without any issues..

Anybody know if there is a setting I missed in the free 3.16 than can make it work, or if it's a known bug?

The only thing I can see that somehow could have led to the problem is that it in the new 3.16 version, when I recorded or overdubed, it didn't loop, but instead created new bars until I stopped the recordmode and played. My solution to this was to loop the specific bars in Main->Loop->Window. In version 4.99 the record/overdub doesn't create new bars, so I have never before done it like this.

Otherwise maybe where I could send a bug report?

Are there any archive of older free versions of JJOS for the mpc1000 available somewhere? 'i could see that the newest free jjos also took away attack/decay and LFO's from the older 4.99, maybe there is an older free version that have the gridedit mode but works for me? :)

All help appreciated :)

Ok, it is kind of resolved (at least for now) :)

Here is how it worked out:

The day after, when I powered up the studio, my MPC1000 had instead started recording the pads one (16th) step too early! WTF?!

So I restarted the machine a few times, but it was still recording the steps too early..

The day before I had reinstalled the old free 4.99 version and the new 3.16 many times, also the os2xl 3.67. So I knew that somewhere in that process it had messed up my TC grid recording timing again. So I started reinstalling all of the versions again and again, and after 6-7 times it worked! :-D

Now my 3.16 install is working perfectly. I also slept a night, powered up again, and it is still right! :) I hope it is the end of this story..

If JJ is out there trying to hunting down the bugs, my hunch (which of course could be nothing at all) is that it could be connected to the powering up while holding the TAP/tempo key too long.. But more of superstition hunch than any kind of visible proof..
