That the thing...Akai is not targetting an Audience that likes to Build Sounds, Be Creative, Beat Makers From Scratch!!! They Target an Audience who want Ready Made Sounds, Ready Made "One Button" Clips of audio to paste together.....Thats who's spending Real Money. I would target that community as well.
Its all About Economics. Which audience is willing to spend more money? Us Older Heads....or Young Up & Coming Producers with their Parents Deep Pockets. Akai wants Making Music to be Easy...Which I dont blame.
I predict the New Machines will have a Button that creates Whole Sequences already pre-made lol. Clips and costly downloadable Sounds.
