2.8 is Here and you might actually like this update...

Great update

It seems a great update.
Anyone has an idea about how the multitrack will work?
Is it a multitrack recorder for standalone?

This update is amazing! The three features I've been waiting on are work flow features:
1. quick access for Pad perform for key groups, midi and plugins
2. edit midi map in standalone
3. changing tracks while in pad perform
ps: in the video a small change, but useful is TC icon on main screen shows the quantize setting versus just clock icon.

Yeah a good update. retrospective record is cool. I still need to call my q-links 2 days before I want to turn them though.

I have to agree - virtually all of the new features in 2.8 is like a checklist of past gripes being crossed off. 2.8 looks to be a solid update - looking forward to trying it out with my Roland Aira gear, and maybe add on a USB-CV for my Live and pick up some Korg Volcas or other modular stuff.

Yeah, that forum is pretty much a useless bust. That said, if the bug reporting quality wasn't up to snuff, they should have conveyed that to the testers instead of just bailing on the program.

Very happy about the Q-link overlay. Are we able to save Pad Scene Q-link configurations yet?

Qlink overlay is exactly what I need.
And also changing track holding main.
Great news.
That's the right direction, it speeds up MPC Live for performances.

Workflow and core functionality update! These are the improvements I want consistently.

Pad short cuts and automation lanes were great ones. This update is a big leap imo.

Still need to be able to change time sig from main screen.

I'm not complaining. The wall I hit a few weeks ago trying to intergrate mpc into my Daw just got knocked down
No more work arounds.

It's getting better with every update.
Since I always jump from track mute and qlink page when I play live, this qlink overlay is the perfect solution.
Now I can just stay on track mute page, as I turn a qlink I can see what I am changing and I can also change sequence from the same track mute page. And if I have to change track, I just hold down main button.
That's just perfect.
I can stay in track mute page all the time.

Anyone catch how to turn Pad Perform off?

The Live in particular suffered from it's interface being ill suited for scenarios like you describe. It stitches up very nicely some tedious navigation. The touch is fine, but not always ideal .

Yeah but first I figured out that I could avoid using pad mute spreading same program in different tracks, so I could just work with track mute.
Now that with qlink overlay I can see what I am moving with qlinks without leaving track mute, this is another great benefit.
From track mute I can also change sequence.
So great idea, at the end you use touchscreen less and just work with physical pads to mute/unmute tracks, qlinks to control fx and data dial to change sequence.
