Anyone else having a hard time recording the first few hits after the precount? Lol I played a perfect bass line only to discover the first few hits weren’t recorded properly, the rest recorded fine. Tc is off so I know that’s not the issue.

No “precount” problem here.

jk.

For real tho, no problem with the first few notes being recorded from pads or external midi gear.

Are we talking the recording of MIDI events or audio tracks?

Talking midi notes. Seriously tried recording post precount and tried with overdubbing, the first few hits consistently recorded offset from the actual rhythm being played lol the rest of the bars, no issue.

I cannot say I've been looking for this problem... but maybe I've subconsciously worked around it.

Usually I'll loop a bit to practice and drop overdub on and haven't seen the problems I think you're describing...

Curious question... what are you playing the bass on? If it's an external keyboard I might just check for any midi loop or other problems...

Yeah i kind of had this in the past, doing hihats with no TC and start with precount. Now i like it better to kick in via overdub.

I think the new feature in 2.8 with unrecorded notes could really help you out here..

If it turns out to be a bug a feature shouldn’t be a solution/workaround for a bug.
But, this workable OS is a lil infested anyway.

I was recording with the pads. Haven’t used any of my midi devices with the mpc one yet. It’s a weird issue, not sure if it’s that small moment at the start that causes it, right when the playback/record begins.

Overdub helps, if I play it a few times as mentioned above and then turn overdub on, but I’m still seeing some offset of rhythm at the top of the sequence.

Have you tried resetting your mpc, updating to 2.6 via usb method and trying again?

I'm running firmware 2.7.2, it was updated via usb when I first got it. Thinking 2.6 would be better?

I haven’t went to 2.7.2 yet so I can’t say if it’s better on 2.6.
It’s an option you could try though.
