Yeah...

Tubesynth is alright. Learning a synth is alot easier when you have a simple layed out hardware synth infront of you like the Minilogue XD is pretty straight forward. Not a modmatrix or anything really in there.

I learnt off a Korg MS2000 years back. But i really got the hang of synthesizers when going from Massive/Serum VST to Hardware synths and trying to get simular sounds to hardware. Learning how to mold/create sounds and remaking them on other synthesizers.

It takes a bit of time to understand the layouts of some synths. It took years for me to truly figure majority about them. Now... I seem to be obsessed...

Tubsynth is a synth yes... but i think learning on another synth is easier than that one. But if you have to learn that one, then learn the routing of the synth. "From what goes to what?" ya know?

Some synths you can make a great sound from the get-go and some are more like subtractive synthesis where you have to use a filter with other things just to make it sound good from harsh. It really depends on the synth.

With VCO Oscillator's its easier to make a great sound, with DCO Oscillator's it can be anywhere on the spectrum but often there harsher sounding compared to a Moog, or a Prologue.

I can tell you from personal experience that finding the sweet spots in the gear we own can take years. A three knob fuzz box or delay pedal has so many variations.
The MS-2000 had diagrams on the face which helped.

Again, this is why you should read up on general synthesis.

If tubesynth is too difficult/overwhelming, I suggest you start with a really simple VST (or if you have the budget a synth) to learn. Personally, the Tal-Uno pluing (juno 60/106 replica) is very easy and there's a knob or slider for everything.

Hadn't done more than flick through a few presets
Revisited tube synth this evening for a good play.

Not a bad synth by any means and il make use of it
Shame I can't use it anywhere else.
