Better info on 2.7 2.8 here. More relevant than the specific forum
For the Ren which is dead.
Paid under 300 for a mint Ren to use as a drum module which it does superbly (even better once 2.8 lands)
Standalone will add nothing to my setup.

But just imagine if you're on the go. you'd need the MK2 with the built in speaker.

Perhaps the sweet-ass touch screen and arguably superior integration with the TUI’s access to your desktop MPC Software might be something that would be added. Maybe check out a cheap secondhand MPC Touch.

Bought a REN for $190 a few months ago. The 16 qlinks are awesome, it made me shelve the touch and put it in the closet.

I'm an MPC X owner, but I will soon be an MPC Live 2 owner in addition. It will be nice to go into the woods behind my house or to the beach which is about 7 blocks away and make beats...
