didnt realize so many people had a mpcx on here. i thought mostly a live forsure. well im surprised.

I own the MPC X, 4000 and the 60MKII. The 4000 I haven’t used in a while. The 60MKII I use for drums on some tracks to get a little 12 bit grit.

Waiting for my MPC One this month!

Yeah, that's kinda crazy. When I was unhappy with the live being so dependent on the screen, I considered the ren for a good minute. But the X is a different story altogether

I like working hard and software. Suits me. Even if I had an x I'd be working this way

That's what it comes down to; good old plain personal preference..

Same here though, i like software a lot too. I always shift through phases of how I like to work. Keeps it interesting, for me...

Still use it when Akai breaks the software the rest of them need to run..

I loved the software and the Studio Black when I first got it don't get me wrong.. But Im old, prefer hardware and don't like being tied to the computer game any more. Besides the software is a joke. Start piling on those plugins and watch that delay kick in all over the place. Akai hasnt even bothered addressing PDC and probably has no intention too heh. Its picky as hell about plugins (hates alot of my Sound Toys stuff flat out and will spike the CPU), crashes and corrupts projects somewhat often, etc.. Maybe you've gotten lucky but its a good thing Akai always made its money on hardware.
