The USB IMG2.8 does not work

Hy,
its the first Time i had to update my MPC Live with the System 2.8 with the Computer
because the Image 2.8 for The USB Istallation does not work.

While I was hunting for the software download I noticed PC Mac and USB as download option. Assume PC/Mac to install via computer and USB in standalone?
Sure someone else can confirm

I just updated mine with the USB....

What steps are you taking when tryin to update with USB?

I did it USB twice firmware and it works.

He may not be Holding down the Shift Button to bring up the Update Tab?

Another Prob i had.....I Downloaded the Update, Put it on USB Stick, Went thru and Updated it, But 2.6 was still the OS.
Problem was....I had 2.6 Update on my SD Card which was still in the MPC...So It RE-Updated it :lol:

I was Trippin :lol:

Why update via USB? Are you all not updating the software and not connected to computer?

A few reasons to update USB...

One less thing to go wrong in the update process (such as computer dying, cable disconnect, etc...)
It's a smaller download, and more straightforward
Don't need to give the computer permissions to do the update

I dunno... I did it over USB for the first time, and not going to do it from the PC ever again... it was super easy over USB.

The one time I updated via software the night I got it (from 2.4 to 2.6) it screwed something up, so I used the USB update that worked perfectly. I use that one every time now just in case. Too much else going on with the computer to have it choke the USB or something and screw up your firmware.. 2.8 went smooth as silk this morning too. Dropped it on my USB stick, hit shift and update in the preferences, bam now I got a neat new track mixer and Im jealous the MKII has buttons to take you right to the Grid and Mixer!

Just this morning I was installing the sampler option in my Blofeld and I had to let it keep updating sysex over USB when I had to sign in and start working on my Mac this morning hah. I was so scared a call coming in from work would screw it up but it made it ok..

So far USB download is solid from everywhere I’ve read.

Download on to stick...insert...hold shift...boom

Make sure your usb stick is formatted to exfat.
