The buttons above the display are quick menu buttons that are freely configrable. We havn't descide ATM if the configured function will be shown at the display or if we implement an extra oled strip above the buttons. (We might get rid of the AKAI logo because of that
There is enough space for buttons like Note repeat/16level etc. We hav't decide where to place those ATM
Of course you can also connect Mouse and PC keyboard for easy rename and control the software

From me dealing with MPCs a TRUE standalone is it not having to be tethered to a computer and software. Point in fact not opinion, when l used my MPC Live, it doesn't have a speaker and l didn't use it with the computer.
Now if you truly want a powerful azz MPC and it never have to connect to a computer you build a badass powerful o e with dope azz options to upgrade. You said people are expecting to much? How? Disk streaming is to much? Lets stop saying MPC is ahead other machines. Hell with other machines, build this mofo to where no company ever want to even look at

I said adding speakers made it a true standalone is because you are not TETHERED to anything (headphones)
Nobody tells me anything and I conjure up logic. I said true standalone as referring to no tethering, including headphones, mainly headphones.
Not trying to debate on an MPC forum but I was referring to THIS MPC being ahead of older MPCs. Im not concerned with other machines as they are not what im into.
Simmer down as we all have opinions and if you ask ME the MPC is the greatest, if you disagree then oh well...

I personally dig the speaker. I don't like wearing headphones all the time, and I don't need more than 5 hours of battery life. I have a beautiful forest for my backyard and I live a few blocks away from the beach. Being outdoors and making my music while among nature is gonna be a dope experience for me.
