I just upgraded to 2.8 and I found all responsiveness of qlinks and touchscreen is much improved.
Qlinks always had latency when moved since the beginning.
Now they are immediate.
Also on grid mode, I had to push twice to put a new note, now it's immediate.
It's strange Akai didn't mention that.
It's definitely improved.
And this qlink overlay is a great gift, now you can just stay on track mute page and see what you are doing with qlinks.
And they respond immediately.
Great great job Akai.
Very good.

Yeah, something feels a bit more optimized, I'm not sure if they adjusted the priorities of the touch screen and q-links, but they feel nicer. Which is totally subjective, but I'll take it :D

No it's not subjective.
Qlink before had a noticeable latency, everyone was aware of it.
Now they work immediately as you move them and are smooth.
Check.
It's not subjective.

I also noticed q-link “delay” is gone. It wasn’t stopping me from doing anything
before but it was an annoyance.

NearTao probably meant “feel” is subjective, not the actual fix. You misunderstood.

You're the only one.
Did you use them on standalone?

Yes sir. I used the computer just a few times. Trust l had no problem in standalone. You would of heard. I liked working with them. I used them a lot messin with the effects.

Ive only hear a few complain about the Qlinks, not everyone.

As you like.
For those who had latency when moving qlinks, now this latency is no more.
Solved. Qlinks work perfectly and smoothly.
Fine?

I turned that Q-Link overlay off, after 10 minutes. That thing is like, old flash websites, that used to have sound on every navigation button. As far as Qlink Latency, buy and replace the plastic with metal end caps. [Quick Strike Tip!]

Yeah if you bump a q while using the jog wheel its pretty annoying... And I dont think you really need the overlay while adjusting effect parameters... Pretty redundant

Yeah or in track mix. Why do I need to see the same numbers, three times on the screen. When the numbers on the standard view are larger.

I don't agree at all.
It's the best added feature on 2.8 for me, you can stay on track mute page now all the time, you use qlink overlay without having to go to qlink page all the time.
A very good improvement for the workflow.

robleighton22 wrote:How do you get the qlinks to lock to a certain page? I want to be able to change a tracks synth parameters whilst on different screens.

Use project mode.
Assign the parameters you need to qlinks and then they will stay fixed to that parameters any mode you go.
