Weird bug on 2.8.
As I change sequence, some samples that are muted (track mute) on new sequence keep on playing.
On preferences I have instant track mute enabled and play mutes.
On 2.6, when I changed the sequence all was fine, now it's messed up.
I also tried to write a pad mute on list edit to switch off the sample as I change sequence, but the pad mute order affects all sequences.
Bloody hell, I cannot find a solution and it messed up all my projects.

Same thing is happening for me too. I skipped the 2.7 update and went from 2.6 to 2.8. Wondering if that has anything to do with it?

I just played a song made in standalone on 2.7.2. The song transitions are definitely doing track mutes the same way on 2.7.2 and 2.8 from what I can hear.

Have you tried to see if you can reproduce this by itself on 2.8 without loading an older project? I'd be curious if this is a change in behavior that wasn't noticed, or something else goofy happening.

I've just installed 2.7.2 and track mutes are working again. Gonna try 2.8 again to see if it'll work this time

Still doesn't work. I'm gonna go back to 2.7.2 again :/

I'd still try and recreate the problem in 2.8, because if you can make a track in 2.8, then it is likely that we can figure out the issue in the song/sequence/track to find and fix it consistently. Or it might be a problem in 2.8. I'll play around this afternoon myself, but after loading a few projects I haven't seen it myself yet.

Yeah I made a project from scratch on 2.8 and it has same behaviour.
I am also reading on forums others have same problem.
I think they messed up instant track mute.

For me specifically, I noticed there was an issue because in a sequence I had an 8 bar sample being triggered at 1.1, and if I began the sequence with that track muted, it wouldn't play at all when I unmuted between the triggering point and the end of the sequence. If the track isn't muted then the sample is triggered and so you can mute and unmute and it'll play as normal. It's the fact that it won't play whilst being muted that's the problem.

Yesterday, I had some issues toggling mute/solo for some tracks and the behavior felt definitely incorrect or let’s say unexpected. Also, I was not able to unmute a track - it took me a few tries and closing and opening the screen few times until the button started responding again (the mute was on but pressing the on screen button did nothing) and even the hw button was not lit.

from past times where something like this has happened, how soon do you guys think it'll take for a patch to be released with a fix for this?

Hopefully soon, with 2.7 there were some problems and they came out shortly with 2.7.2.
But Akai is unpredictable so let's see.

I found a temporary solution.
On next sequence, you don't mute the track but go track view (shift+main) and put the level of the track at 0.
This way, as you change sequence, the samples stop playing.
The weird thing is that if you mute or delete the track, the samples keep playing from previous sequence, like there is no note off when muted.
I really don't understand which is the problem, short samples, keygroups and plugins behave normally and only long samples (extracted and quantized to the sequence) keeps playing while muted on next sequence.
Ok.
For now the workaround is to put the level from track view at 0.

if (only) with long(er) samples, try re-setting or setting the play mode to something different, to see if that makes any difference

settings - sequencer - truncation
