Track mutes not working since 2.8 update??

Wondering if anyone else is having issues with playing muted tracks where a track is muted in a sequence, you unmute halfway through but it won't play until the next time a pad is triggered? e.g. you have a 8 bar long sample being triggered at the first beat of the first bar, but it's muted at the time of being triggered, you have to wait until the sequence loops before the sample will start to play.

I've checked my settings in the sequencer preferences and 'instant track mute' and 'play track mute and solo events' are still selected, and I can't for the live of me figure out what's going on. I can't find anything in the user manual referencing this either so I'm assuming something's went wrong when I updated to 2.8 today.

Anyone else having similar issues?

I have the problem that if I change sequence, a track that was playing on first sequence and is muted on next sequence, it keeps playing anyway.
I am freaking out.
I cannot find a solution.
I think they messed up instant track mute option.
