Has anyone figured out how to use midi plugins such as Cthulu,Scaler,Reason Rack, in the new 2.8 update? I imagine it would now be possible with all the new midi routing stuff..

tried for a while with the arp. plugin 'Cream'
although the ref. manual states the 'send to' is midi ..

no luck yet :-(

wish mpc sftwr had an fx chain setup like reaper
for me .. reverting to 2.6 'n just using the mpc vst from within Reaper
be a better prospect .. midi/audio routing fairly straight forward :-)

fergot to add: .. 'cream' would not sync to mpc's tempo either

1 potential solution might be use an app. like 'midi-pipe'
i.e. create a midi route out-to midi pipe 'in' .. one 1 trak
then use the midi-pipe 'out' as an input for a different trak

have done that in Reaper

btw: midi-pipe be for macs .. not sure about pcWindows
although midi-ox for pc is supposed to be useful :-}

i've gone back to 2.6 ..

Just had a play myself
No way to receive midi data from vst unfortunately.

As you say. Piece of piss in reaper. Just Chuck it in the chain pre vst and job done

I won't be rolling back myself as I sequence the mpc from reaper and treat the mpc as a drum module
